(Chasepwner) #43

What format is the game in? CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or both? (I’m too n00b to have a DVD-ROM for some reason)

(kamikazee) #44

They wrote “bonus DVD”, meaning the game will probably ship on a DVD as well. And I think it’s the only reasonable way, seeing how the maps could be about 500 MB in size.

So maybe you’ll have to look for an “ET:QW + DVD drive” bundle.

just saying its hard to let go of old idols… idsoftware was always where I wanted to work (or 3DRealms) but since they decided to move to console development, I’m not that much interested anymore…
writing or playing an egoshooter on a console is something thats completely in conflict with my mind, and if SD switches to console development too, they cant become my new idols, thats all I want to say

(SCi-Fi) #48

wots a console???

(NoControl) #49

When did id become console game developer? id makes the original pc version, while others make the possible console ports.

(TTK-Bandit) #50

Thats a console:

@NoControl:
not anymore, they decided this a few weeks ago, because of the piracy discussion.
and if you check their job offer page, then you’ll notice, they are looking for ppl with console experience.

back to topic btw, we’re getting offtopic

(mr.erkle) #51

registered game tags ? " try ‘john 240’ … ? sounds annoying in the extreme…

Thats a console.

Could you please release the game in a floppy disk, I’m worried that the game will only be available in one of those silver round things.

I’ve already spent my life’s fortune buying a portable one that lets me listen to music CDs, but it doesn’t seem to support computer ones. Even when I plug it into the line-in jack on the back of my computer.

The CDs sometimes play but nothing can be heard, and the track goes on for hours. With the movie ones, I would expect to at least listen to the actors and the movie soundtrack, but I just get a disk error instead, and it doesn’t play at all.

I’m confused when you ask to release the game in DVD? My cousin has one of those, but I only see him watch movies on his TV, I never see him playing there. Unless you call scrolling in the menu playing. I play on my TV with my Super Nintendo, but that uses a cartridge.

I would really appreciate it if you could release the game in one big floppy disk, and not the newer small hard disks. I used to have both of them, but my little brother was trying to duplicate a big floppy disk and he folded up the blank one into the hard disk drive. Now it’s broken.

Anyways, I prefer the big ones because they hold more memory…

(Click the left side of the Lappy’s screen at the end to see Strong Bad and Strong Sad arguing over floppy/hard disks. Also try the right side.)

My only hope is that Canadians don’t get screwed with our pre-order packages. They always consider us “North America” but never give us the same stuff as our US neighbours.

For Quake 4 we were supposed to get Q4 T-shirts like in the US. We ended up with nothing more than just a copy of the game and a shrug from the guy behind the desk. :frowning:

(kamikazee) #55

Official maps, that is. Custom maps will hopefully not be larger than 100 MB.

(Vengeance) #56

im really wanting to pre-order but im not sure what happens with the pre registration thingie. so can any of you whos pre-ordered tell me what happens with it? i most likely am gonna go through game or play.com from the uk.

just a little confused as to what happens as people mentioned before the sites dont mention the collectors edition and thats the one i would like to get  help a confused newbie out like me

(Earlydawn) #57

Got my pre-order box today. Came with the two cards (Titan and Strogg Aircraft that’s name escapes me right now), as well as a very tall poster of the Strogg orbital strike obliterating a GDF convoy. Good stuff!

I think this indicates we’re in the home stretch.

(AnarchyAngel) #58

Can anyone from SD shed some light on when Australia will be getting pre-orders, Im finding this very unfair due to the fact the we don’t get to register our game tags like everyone else. Which means most likely wont get the names we want.

(SlippytheWeasel) #59

After you pre-order, you will receive a registration code. Go to this link

http://www.enemyterritory.com/buyitnow/index.html

Look down at the bottom where it says “ALREADY PRE-ORDERED? REGISTER YOUR GAME TAG NOW”

Click that link, it’ll take you to the tag reservation page. Put your registration code in, fill in everything else, you should be good to go.

Some questions:
If I buy the Ltd. edition, will it be possible to get the missing two cards somewhere?

Not Ltd. edition related.
Will it be possible to change the nickname later on without any disadvantages?
