enemy territory plz help
At what resolution?
Did you check that FSAA and AF are disabled?
Did you install chipset drivers for your motherboard?
Which gfx driver are you using?
(Questions, questions…
)
install updated chipset drivers
update direct X
install nVidia 84.21 drivers (my recommended version these days)
Go into wolfy; set “recommended” for the video. Test.
Run 3DMark 2005 and post the detailed results.
I have more ideas if that fails, but the results will tell me more about what your system is doing.
800x600, how do i check my FSAA and my AF??gfx?? ,where do i dl that nvidia driver?
questions, questions :bump:
Please make sure to read the Driver Installation Hints Document before you install this driver.
(dont be worried about the screen looking crappy after you uninstall and restart the computer, it’ll be back to goodness once you install the new driver)
What motherboard are you using? AGP? PCI-e? Run dxdiag, go to display and see if direct draw, direct 3D and texture acceleration are enabled. What version of your mainboard drivers are you using? Based on your FPS, I suspect your chipset drivers, or else something seriously wrong in your mainboard settings. Run 3D Mark and give us the results. I’d like to see if the problem is Wolfy specific or in all 3D applications.
ET doesn’t use ddraw or d3d, so if this bug, whatever, is ogl dependent, this doesn’t help. Can you run other games without Problems?
Yes, that’s correct, but if the chipset drivers are screwed up, frequently those tabs will be listed as ‘disabled’. I’m trying to isolate whether the problem is systemic or configurational.
Well, that sounds about right for your system. Are the OGL extensions enabled in your Wolfy preferences? If your card is working well for other 3D games, but not for Wolfy, then it must be:
Your OGL subsystem - maybe your Open GL settings are fubared? Not likely, but possible.
Your Wolfy config is fubared - GL extensions? Reasonable resolution? Recommended detail level? A bad custom “FPS saving” config? A Wolfy install that has gone corrupt?
I tought about ogl ext already. try to use a sample cfg. should work then.
well now i know for a fact that you cant count on splashdamage people to help you with anything, fuckin assholes just ignore me
ever considered that the problem is in front of your computer? :uhoh:
there are a lot of users here who are willing to help, you just have to ask the questions in a polite way and provide the necessary information so that anyone can help you. nobody here is a gipsy so that they can predict your problem, nor is anyone the wizard of oz afaik. i might be wrong on the last one though.
this guy has same graca, same problem, he solved it:

hail to the powah of the almighty google!
Sypher2 you are an ass.
You arent very computer literate which is obvious by your questions, and are the type of person that makes IT help desk people tear out their hair. Do you really think SD has the time to spare to help you while they are developing their next title? Especially when this problem comes from a computer illiterate person which magnifies the time needed by at least 10 times.
You really need someone who knows PC’s to sit down at your computer and check out your problem. I can’t count the times I’ve helped people around my area with problems and it turns out they started deleting things they shouldn’t have… we could try to help you for weeks and never figure out you did something like that without being in front of your computer.
If BF2 and Fear run well, then your problem is not with resolution, anti aliasing, or other settings within ET. You should be able to run ET with everything set to the highest it can go without any problem whatsoever. Also, your drivers and directX are most likely fine if BF2 and Fear run well.
Are you running a dual-core processor? I’ve heard of problems with these running older games and you can search at Microsoft for solutions. Also, your first post was confusing… you are running a server and playing on the same PC? I’m not sure how demanding an ET server is, but I bet you wont get super performance running both at the same time.
If you’re running a server and playing on it from one home computer, just give up, first 2.60 needs to be run from etded.exe, second you might be able to get 4 players total on it as dedicated. Self hosted games are for LAN only imo
sorry, i got out of control…im just so frustrated man…
i host a DEDICATED server and get, of course 1 ping, but the problem is, when im on like fueldump, when i spawn by the fueldump itself, i get exelent fps, but when i get close to the bridge and the allies first spawn…i get 10fps, im doing a defrag now, also im soing a spyware scan…hope it fixes…sorry about me saying that
What kind of fps do you get when you’re not running a server? Do you have the same poor performance on fueldump when playing online?
Have you tried installing Wolfy into a new directory (C:\ProgramFiles\Troubleshooting or whatever)? Does the clean install + patch give better FPS?
Have you tried raising your rate, hunkmegs or soundmegs? If your rate is set for dial up but you are using a LAN, you’ll still get the crappy modem rate. Hunkmegs should be set to approximately 128. I set soundmegs at 128 also (because I hate disk swapping).
Have you read a server tutorial to make sure that all of your server parameters are correct?
I have a basic tutorial here that might help.
