Is this actually a 256 meg card, or is a ‘turbocache’ card using 256 megs of system memory ?

What kind of fps do you get when you’re not running a server? Do you have the same poor performance on fueldump when playing online?

Have you tried installing Wolfy into a new directory (C:\ProgramFiles\Troubleshooting or whatever)? Does the clean install + patch give better FPS?

Have you tried raising your rate, hunkmegs or soundmegs? If your rate is set for dial up but you are using a LAN, you’ll still get the crappy modem rate. Hunmegs should be set to approximately 128. I set soundmegs at 128 also (because I hate disk swapping).

Have you read a server tutorial to make sure that all of your server parameters are correct?

Try doing a ‘clean install’ to a new directory. Test it. Install the patch. Test it.

If the clean install doesn’t work, and other games do work fine (FEAR and others)…then it must be driver or driver settings related.

If the clean install does work, and things get better, then your Wolfy install has gone bad, which does happen. Make sure, by the way, that you launch ET directly from the new directory, to avoid any confusion with the old install.

did you check different drivers? if you read my post above a guy with the same graphics card had the same issue. in his case it was a driver problem.

Not likely. There is a graphical glitch with the newest nvidia drivers (command map icons don’t show up), but I haven’t heard of performance being affected.

I have this shitty card also with a weaker cpu and i get 76 constant fps,
try the drivers 84.21.

Also are you using sp2? When I formatted windows I had sp1 and i got like 10fps and it was unplayable.

Try downloading Fraps, it improves fps for some people, just leave it running in backround. www.fraps.com

Right click on the Nvidia logo in your tray, then go to:
Performance & Quailty Settings >> Antialiasing Settings set that off, do the same for Anistropic Settings set to Off. see what happens then.

Also is this happening in every server you play in? pb and non pb servers?
