IMO,
Tweaking is quite limited in ET, especially with the commonly enforced punkbuster cvar limits. Most servers will not let you remove the trees etc.

The other problem is that you cannot assume the picture is the same start with. Some monitors are brighter and more contrasty than others. Different video modes, video cards and even ambient light conditions give different results. Some people have to turn their gamma up to 2, just to see, while for others that would be blindingly bright.

Unless everyone is on identical systems, you have to allow some degree of teaking.

Well, I followed the link and spent about 20 minutes reading their main ā€˜Official hack detection threadā€™ showing the status of ā€˜activeā€™ hacks - You should read it too . From what I can see, there were a small number of publically available hacks that were working in 2003 (bigmac, icebot etc and no I donā€™t use them - wtf would be the point in spending 3 years improving my aim just to cheat now?) but the guys @ PB made some serious changes to the detection routines (wrappers and hooks but Iā€™m no developer tbh) which (from what I read) seems to have caused fundamental problems for the cheating community - good. So whilst Iā€™m no expert, it does look as if the cheats that are available and working would be held by friends and maybe a small select group of ppl - not generally available to the general public - suits me. BTW, they are moaning that all wallhacks are detected with ETPro 3 :wink:

[You were not playing on ETPro3 with Icebot, Grimly and evidently, you werenā€™t playing with PB on either because that hack has long since been detected. Furthermore, there are no public hacks (or private as far as I know) that allow you to even wallhack on ETPro3. I am sure someone will crack that egg soon enough though.]

Spot the retard who posted the URL :] then again, he signed up just to post it and ignoring the calls to an edit so it aint gonna suprise me if hes from mpcā€¦ or at least, a user there.

Ive noticed ETPro loves to config spam me everytime I use Heron Spawn Timer. I know its because ETPro anti cheat looks for 3rd Party Apps as it was picking up things like Windows Blinds etc mistaking them for cheats but anyone know a way round it? Had it running for around 2 minutes before I had to close it as it had written over 1492 configs already to me /etpro dir with nothing but cl_heron 0 in themā€¦ :smiley:

It shouldnā€™t do anything like that unless a) there was a cvar limit on the server requiring cl_heron to be a certain value, and b) trying to change it to the desired value kept failing. Iā€™ll have to see if I can reproduce the problem, or beat someone else into reproducing it for me.

I dont find many cheaters around these days, with PB updating continually and the new ET Pro 3 cheat folder thing cheater will have a harder tiem hacking our game :slight_smile: BTW first post :slight_smile: Really is just to check if my adv, and sig are working :slight_smile:
