god, i lost a match today to some feck newbie cuz he opend the door!

 , this one is for u -jon- u ass !! :banghead:

LOL. Some people are just stupid! I’ve actually had to sit there and guard

the back door from noobs trying to go out. 2 things happen to those who

go outside:

 1. I kill them!

 2. I nade their corpse!

Then comes the filing of complaints and the accusing ME of being a noob!

Followed by the repeated attempts to kick me out of the server.

See without noobs that map would be almost impossible for allies…almost

as impossible as the Rhine map that just came out! Think SD knew that

before hand?

Lost a “match” or a round in a pub game? If you’ve got players in “matches” opening that back door, I suggest you rethink your roster.

If, as I suspect, it was a round in a pub game, look for a better public server to play on with better players.

some people are just hopeless.

one time i was axis FO gaurding the backdoor. i threw an airstrike out back just in case there was an ally hiding out there, when suddenly, i hear the door open. i look at the map and it turns out it was a n00b axis covert ops that decided to walk out. not to much of a problem, except he walked to my airstrike and filed

anyway, i start manning the MG at the door when, not surprisingly, the same guy walks right out the door. i watched him on my command map. he barely got past the command post before he was killed by an allied covert/engie pair (remember any enemies a covert can see will apear on the map)

after gunning them down when they came with his uni, i stood infront of the door incase he came again. turns out he did. he stared at me for a moment, with a look of “move I want to give them my uniform again!.” but i stood my ground! he shot me a few times, but then decided to man the MG. i hear him fire on a few guys, so i decide to see whats up. unfortunattly, i moment i move from the door, he sprints around me and opens it and charges out into the allied mess. i throw an airstrike, killing the three allies and killing him (he files again).

the round ended after that and the axis were victorious!

as impossible as the Rhine map that just came out!

I found that map quite easy. Maybe we just had a good team. :chef:

(NoRm) #6

hehe yeah its annoying init

but hey a decent covert ops dont need no noob coming into back garden for a stroll to get in.

carefull placed airstrike will blow allied ppl over to the beach
or just run up ramp kill one, smoke grenade, steal uniform and
take a stroll to back door

(Vink) #7

Its annoyin but its easily watched if u use ur command map to see where your teammates r. I often go out the backdoor at teh very start of teh map to make my mine gardens & build teh command post which is important for the team. I only do this at the very start of teh match so there will be no allies there. I also change my spawn to the main bunker just in case something does go wrong. I don’t think its that bad going out there so long as the player knows what he is doing & is willing to do something about teh consequences if something does go wrong

(Ozzie) #8

Good point, but, as an allied engi, I also change my spawn, and go directly to the command center, usually with a cvtop. Looking forward to the ‘battle for the door’ with you :drink:

(Vink) #9

I’d be there already with 2 mines planted & hiding with sound turned up full & nade out

I think its not very smart to TK someone who leaves the bunker.

First of all there is a command post there, wich is not nice if the Allies got it.
Secondly, the bunker is much more easy to defend then the back door not in the least bit because there is a health and ammunition cabinet there, and allso because before they run up the hill, i renewed my health and ammo again -if i got wounded-

Ah but now you are gonna say “if you dont open the door its not an entrance” …noob ! If by a grenade, arstrike, mortar or another reason a body gets on the beach (and they will) then the back door is unguarded (wich idiot is gonna sit there for 30 minutes without somthing 2 do) and the allies walk inside.

A favorite trick of mine is when we get a hold of the forward bunker pick a uniform and walk all the way back over the beach and up the hill to the back door, as the dumb allies where so kind to “give” us the command post an engeneer can spawn there and together we walk inside the bunker and destroy objective.

Even if the backdoor was guarded by one or maybe 2 men, the chance is that the Allied cov opps and the engeneer defeats them and then u lose either way, 2 men guarding the hill is much more effective, and if THEY would be killed the road to the objective is longer then from backdoor to objective, so chances to defuse or prevent dynamite from being planted are increased.

Ow and one more thing : The person shooting the one who walk out the back door is a TK and a lamer because you just DONT kill teammates unless fired upon by one !!!
You can back these guys up instead of killing them, not much of a teamplayer are ya ?
If i see mistakes that teammates make i do not go around killing them even if we lose a game, i just try to tell them when the game is over…
I allways throw a grenade beside the door (on “4 seconds”) to see if someone is standing beside it, and then before i walk out i hold a grenade for 3 seconds and then open the door and throw it out, then just before the door closes i slip out, so no chance they can walk in that way…

But when a noob walks out the door unaware of the danger, it could mean u lose the game, still no reason to TK him i think…

Just my thoughts

And there off…

Vink going down the stairs and up again…
Ozzie’s comin out of the water running up the hill path…
vink’s going through the door and around to the CC…
Ozzie’s past the fence heading to the CC…
And they meet at the door of the CC…
What, they’ve both stopped, what are they doing?
:drink:  :drink:

Hey, they’ve turned the CC into a pub and forgotton about their objective…

Holding the back door can be done but it takes too many players to do correctly. It’s also a boring job, which means it’s hard to get that kind of effort in pub games.

If you are intent on keeping people from leaving, you can block the hallway just before the door very easily. I usually just stand in the middle there facing the door. There’s typically a few people who want to help and I let them through. That morons that want out though have to sit and wait for the clock to hit 1:00 before they can go mess around.

What really pisses me off are the cheaters and I do consider it cheating. It’s the people who intentionally run out the back or onto the beach, just to die and give up their uniform. That used to drive me crazy until I started blocking the door. They still tk’ed me to get outside but they could only do that 6 times before getting kicked.

(Dr.Fragenstein) #13

I suggest you quit that approach. If you tiime how long it takes axis to get to the cmd center/teamdoor and compare it to howl long it takes the allies, you’ll find it’s about the same. If you’re building the cmd post, you not only have less time but you’ve announced your position to the other team.

(Vink) #14

If you read my second post, I said that I plant mines before i build teh command post as I don’t want to announce my presence till i have secured the area. Once teh cp is built i normally hang around till i get bored then go back inside main bunker & build everything if it hasn’t been already done. I’d only stay at the cp if it was busy & my mine gardens where doing well

(Ozzie) #15

Vink,

I think what he’s trying to say is allies can also change their spawn point befor the match begins, and from the new spawn point, it takes the same amount of time to get to the command center. Therefor, If your running beyond the CC to plant your garden, allies can be waiting, with their volume turned up waiting for you to start arming mines, and pop around the corner and catch you with you pliers in hand. :eek2:

Your tactic will work most of the time in the pubs because most noobs do not know about changing spawn, with the operative word being MOST, and of course if no one sees that Vink is in the game after reading this thread.

(Vink) #16

I look foward to that u bring the tea, i’ll bring the cucumber sandwichs. But I don’t play engineer much on defence i’d prefer to be spammin the beach with arty.

(Pamper) #17

But you can’t change your spawn before the match! Sure, you can select a spawnpoint during the warmup when you choose your class, but it will be overridden when the game begins. The first wave of allies and axis on battery MUST be in the west boat and the west bunker- they have no way to change that.

As to which of those 2 positions lets you run to the commandpost faster… it’s hard to tell. Axis has a shorter distance, but there’s the maze of the battery to get through. I’d have to measure it to find out.

But anyway, if an axis decides to build commandpost, he should first look down the path to the beach and check that no Allies are attacking immediately. (If there are, then it’s rifle-grenade time). Only after planting 2 landmines on the approach should you make the commandpost. Building that post is a signal for 3-4 allies to come attack there, so you should have at least 1 other kraut to help you fight them off.

Axis holding the command post gets several benefits:

 1. Shorter charge time for your arty, panzers, and satchels.
 2. Longer charge time for their arty, panzers, and ramp-building.
 3. Less ammo and firing positions for allied mortars.
 4. When (not if!) they get a uniform from the front entrance, you’ve got a better position to intercept. And if you get killed there, you have time to respawn and meet them at the gun controls. Whereas if allies kill the guard for the rear door, they’ll already plant the controls before he respawns.

Of course, you should only try to keep the commandpost if you have 1 or 2 other people to guard it with you (a medic and a panzer or fieldops). And if your teammates won’t be verbally abusive when they see you go out the back (which never, ever happens on pubs).

(Rippin Kitten) #18

Grab a friend, and when you go out the back door in a group the other defenders tend to catch on. Someone could sit back and whine that you went out the back door, but once you have the CP secured and are keeping the allies pinned on the beach, they’ll stop complaining and come help out. =)

RK

(weasel) #19

True. You’re giving the allies an advantage by giving them control of the east side. Put up a fight, but don’t go out without an escort. You can mine the path and man the machineguns, so you’re putting up a fight on both fronts. Get there early though, and have an engineer on call in the building. Once you secure the command post, mine it and keep at least 2 people there. Then you don’t have to worry about the back door. Remember, they can grenade an axis on to the beach anyway. Don’t make it easy for them.

(Danyboy) #20

Haven’t read half of these posts since at the moment I’m on the P&O Oceana cruise ship :p:p

So Internet time is fairly expensive when one is crossing the Bay of Biscay

Anyways…

Just like to say that I usually camp out back there - and cause i have good skill i plant a whole load of mines along the pathway - use K43 grenade attack to reach far end ppl.

Plus if i go for close combat i use grenades - so that if i get killed the grenade will gib me - so far i havent let one person thru.

So maybe post should be renamed to

Dont open the damn door your noobs :P:P
