My 2 cents worth…

Going out the Back Door has some advantages, but also carries great risk, and I think the risk outweighs the advantages. There’s no point building the Command Post unless you’re going to defend it, which will take 2 - 3 players or more, which will leave the Beach defense short-handed.

One man with an MG42 INSIDE the Back Door can hold it against Allied Cov-Ops getting in, leaving the rest of the team to defend the Beach.

The main argument for/against going out the Back Door rests on the assumption that Axis will lose a uniform anyway cos someone will either be stupid enough to go onto the Beach or will get blown onto it. I don’t agree with this assumption. Even on a public server, if the players are half-decent and know what they’re doing, there’s no reason why Allies should ever get an Axis uniform. If an Axis does get blown onto the Beach it’s not that difficult to prevent an Allied Cov-Ops getting his uniform (shoot the Cov-Ops!). As Allies tend not to survive for very long on the Beach it’s actually far, far easier for an Allied Cov-Ops to get a uniform off an Axis who’s gone out the Back Door.

Going out the Back Door doesn’t necessarily mean you will lose your uniform, but NOT going out the Back Door GUARANTEES you won’t.

today i was with a noobie team of axis again, and i kept saying “dont open the backdoor” but 1 axis engi still went outside…

1 min later we got, “generator destroyed”, so i killed myself and went in as an engi 2 the gun controls. There was 1 engineer busy planting but be4 he could i killed him, i fixxed the generator and said “the person that walks out this door will die” …

Next thing u know the other axis engi runs out the door, i grab hold of the mg, gun him down and shoot a grenade up his ass (note there was a covert ops waiting, but he didnt get the body because i blew it up)

he filed a complaint and he was asking why the hell i killed him, :eek2: :eek3: :eek: is he a noob or what !?!
or maybe hes blind…

The most stupid case I’ve seen:

Two heroes from french clan MP - medic and fieldop were camping at back door and OPENING IT EACH TIME THERE WAS AN ENEMY APPROACHING. Most frag greedy bastards I’ve seen. Their aiming was slighty below average. We were unable to kick them, because allied team enjoyed it. Allies were able to plant at gun controls at least 3 times because of their stupidity. We would’ve lost much earlier if I wasn’t spectating them after death. (disarm the dynamite before it’s actually planted)

Congratulations! You murdered a teammate, instead of waiting a minute and killing the enemy in his uniform!

I hope you’re proud of yourself!

(When people do this to me, I switch to allies and WIN, because I know it’ll be easy to beat a team with such stupidity that they’ll shoot each other. If you take the time to guard the backdoor, guard it from enemies, not friends! I see some morons standing inside the door facing inward- just waiting for the allied covert to kill him from behind!)

pamper be4 u post read my goddamn post first, THERE WAS A COVERT OPS WAITING, i aint taking the goddamn risk of having 5 allies in my neck while protecting the generator, AND YES I WAS INDEED VERY PROUD OF MYSELF !! :clap: :clap:

most of the allies didnt even spawn on the beach anymore, they spawned at the command post, u think 1 axis engie will hold it against more allies?? i think not… :drink: :drink:

On battery when I play axis I always warn people in warmup not to go down to the beach or out the back or you will be tked. I have always had several people agree and say they will do the same thing. You still have idiots jumping down trying to rambo the allies spawnpoint, and you have no choice but to tk them and destroy the body but I personally have never had anyone disagree with me in a game that they should go down onto the beach or out the back. Reguardless of the benefits of the command post it is much safer to hold the back door by stayin inside and calling arties out the window and manning the fixed mg.

I read your post of course. The fact that you knew there was a covert waiting is exactly why you should’ve killed that covert, instead of your teammate.

However, you didn’t mention the presence of 5 other Allies outside. In that case, the proper response is to wave, laugh, and throw explosives on them.

If Axis can defend the commandpost with 2 guys, they’ll probably keep 6 Allies occupied jumping in front of machineguns, which is a victory for your team.

Simiilarly, if 5 Allies sit around behind the rear door with nothing to do, that’s also a victory for Axis.

But if Axis thinks that just because nobody is going down the beach or out the rear that they can ignore the rear completely, they’re in for a nasty surprise.

Tell me about it, every time the match is going well for axis (still at forward bunker), the noobies go spawnkilling. After a while they get killed by an allied covop…

10 mins before the end: “The generator has been destroyed”
8 mins before the end: “Dynamite planted at the gun controls”

Everyone is still defending at the forward bunker, we lose.

What makes me laugh is ive won this map so many times just going through the front door on my own as engie,its really shocking how you can run up the ramp and straight to the gun controls without anyone spotting you.

This is starting to get a little harder to do. I think we’ve all used this trick enough that players now actually watch the passageway instead of focusing completely on the bunker flag. Still worth a shot, just don’t be too surprised to see two guys guarding that doorway when you come off the ridge. =)
