I feel that ETQW won’t be as great as I thougt it was a few months ago. I don’t know, but let’s see how it plays out when the game is released.
Death of bunnyhopping ?
you ever played quake4 online :?
uh yeah, and on a 7300 LE too. Light edition is basically a stripped down version, and cannot run most first person shooter games smoothly, with the exception of doom3, quake4, and prey. And yes, I’ve been playing quake 4 online without any flaws, and on High quality too.
Don’t underestimate the power of the 7300 LE
Or maybe the guys who made the computer made a mistake, shoved a better video card inside, but they put a sticker on the comp that says 7300LE, and they put a price tag on that comp as if it had a 7300LE. I don’t know.
k, checked some hw-sides up’ndown and found that: http://www.anandtech.com/printarticle.aspx?i=2699
thats with a gs and since you have a le, which runs 13% slower on the core and the memory compared to the gs, i think its kinda hardly playable, but its up to you to define smooth gameplay. my advice: get a 7600 or 8600 and you will do alot better and i dont talk about graphic, just that sweet fps…

If I ran it in low quality, maybe I get 40-60 fps, but 20-30 is good enough, as I don’t feel any frustration when I play the game.
Well from my perspective, 20-30 fps may not be great, but it is good enough for me. I’m planning to get a new card once my warranty for my computer expires. Don’t want to void it too early if you know what I’m saying. Then I will be able to brag to my cousin that I have a better video card than he does.
He was like HHAHAHAHAHHA, you got gypped, my vid card is still better than yours etc etc.

then you will have alot of phun with your ati r600, next year, or something later, thats for sure…
dude whats your problem? not everyone can afford or is willing to pay for a highend graphic card! and i was able to play q4 with a radeon 9000 @ 64mb video memory … although it was all green but still smooth playing was possible
so even a 7300 will be enough for sure

no sense of humor? thought that would be a good laugh for ati’s yet to delaying…ehm…delivering r600…
There are good reasons for the lack of ragdolls in QW. Players have to die on their backs so they can be revived, just like in et. Wouldn’t make sense to put a defibirlator on someone back. I don’t think QW player movement will be much different than ET or Q4, even if the player might move a little slower. I don’t think people not being able to swim underwater is obscene. There will be plenty of other ways to get around in this game. The devs have stated why the do these things…
One of the reasons given for death animations instead of ragdoll physics is because people have to interact with bodies (revive, gib, steal unis, create spawn hosts, etc) and ragdoll physics results in bodies ending up where you can’t reach them. It was decided that death animations better served gameplay than ragdoll physics.

are they running out of pool supervisors…
ati and opengl? i thought that was only a oxymoron, like dumb and smart or enemyterritory and quakewars…
I really want to have bunny hopping viable when I get close and personal. When I get in close range with someone I just have something twich in my head and I HAVE to start bunny hopping in circles around him… quake thing I guess.
right, its only possible in devmode or when you add +sv_cheats “1” to the commandline…
There is no bunnyhop or strafejump abuse in etpro or main game. End of story.
Troll…
the only reason to move your mouse while strafejumping is for aircontrol when you land atfer each jump.
…to avoid that you will just jump ahead linear. but with a more nonlinear, hyperbelalike curve you will get the speed we so much appreciate. there are alot of maths and formulas out there, just check them…
I wonder why some people think strategy means slow. What about Tribes? It’s quite probably the most strategic team FPS ever, and also the fastest. Slow FPSs can be a lot of fun (RO:Ostfront FTW), but I wouldn’t want Quake Wars to be one.

???
oxymoron is like openGL and DirectX9…ffs, we know that openGL is so inferior compared to Dx9…and that ETQW does both openGL and Dx9…
a quicky example is tribes 2, its can run both types, and directX looks so much better and runs more smoother.

now this is the biggest crap iv ever heard. u can strafejump in etpro and only there (well maybe any other mod without cheats or gravity, doublejump changes). in jaymod or in other double jump mods its called DOUBLE JUMP.
and in the last post u said u dont need to move your mouse and now only aircontrol… BULL. just keyboard and you only get half the jump, the mouse movement doesn’t help much at start but a jump need air control. you are in the air if you jump(tell me if im mistaken). even when sliding mouse movement helps and that is ground control(right?). that why ppl train months and years to do this and get to a sneaky place or to make objectives(ex:you can do the whole fueldump map with no need of a tank or constructibles or even GRENADES.
