I was being sarcastic, i’ve been playing Q3 for about 6/7 years now
Death of bunnyhopping ?
This reminds me of arsemode:

murka: I can bunnyhop, or whatever you call it, and still consider it mindless and lame. So I managed to disprove your theory.
I don’t do it. For the same reason I don’t use rifle grenades - they’re next to mindless, BORING, and require neither good aiming or tactical planning. This is interesting, because I’m very good with handgrenades. Very often I’m the most accurate with them and get the most kills (during a match). I played Q3F a lot, you see :D.
Handgrenades require not only skill (timing the thing so that it blows right next to somebody’s face, taking distance and elevation into account), but also lots of planning. To time it properly you need to anticipate the movement of your opponent. If you fail, (at close range) you die, as simple as that, because TIMED handgrenades have very slow rate of fire and you won’t have time to switch.
Clearing bunkers or shutting down mg42 with a well-timed handgrenade is my hobby. Handgrenades are a noble weapon indeed.
Someone posted this link in another forum (in a thread about spawncamping), and I think it applies to bunny/strafejumping as well (although it’s about a different game).
Bunny hopping is a legitimate maneuver…and is no where NEAR dead… something tells me that you dont play wolf:et any more…because every vet does it.
And it does take some skill to achieve it efficiently. Its not button mashing “W”, “sprint” and “jump”…you have to time it. You hold “W” and sprint and jump when you just tapped the ground (and let go and repeat)…
W:ET strafejumping is not mindless but i think bunnyhopping is.
and tell me howlong have you jumped, cuz beginners call it pointless. it aint a thing you learn overnight
I think strafejumping requires a lot of planning more than bunnyhopping. I have to figure what keys to press, what angle of movement to move in etc etc.
Bunnyhopping is just go in one direction, and jump many times, or go in zigzag pattern and jump many times. No planning there. It is one of those thing where you just do it.
And there are some skills that I call mindless (as in require no planning, or strategy) but takes practice. You do have to have skill to do something, but it just does not require extensive use of your brain.
Another way I think of mindless is this. If you aren’t solving some kind of puzzle, then it is mindless.
sorry, but its hard for me to accept the fact thats peeps with a geforce 7300 wont to know a thing about gaming. get some POWER and dont mess up your poorly reality with our game world…thx!
Strafejumping is easy, it doesn’t require to move the mouse and you need to have a good keyboard setup. and to my knowledge the only way to strafejump in WET is by playing a certain mod, the real game and etpro don’t allow this non-sense… And the stamina bar prevents it.
Bye
could anyone translate this port for me? its like " :suspicious: "

he is like saying p3opLe WITH @ 7300 c@NNOT pHULLy 3xp3R13NcE t0D4y’5 9r34+ g4me5, du3 To +eh L4CK oPh “3Y3 C4nDy.”
or in lame speak…
people with a 7300 cannot fully experience today’s great games, due to the lack of “eye candy.”

Which is why I have a xbox, and not a xbox 360. I’m not that into graphics. I only buy a new machine, whether PC, or console, when I see this great game, but cannot run it smoothly.
Screw the eye candy. I ate them all.
than why care about megatextures or any graphical achievements? You better off playing tribes (or some old ass multiplayer)… A good balance between eye candy and game play makes a better game…a better experience…
Like I said, if a game is great, and it can run smoothly, it is good enough for me. A 7300LE is a crap card, but I know it can run ETQW with medium to high quality graphics. This is the reason I don’t have an xbox 360 or a better graphics card, is that I don’t waste money on something that can already work well. I will only buy a new graphics card when I come across a game that is unplayable.
I don’t know what tribes is, but from the websites combined with my assumptions, I don’t think the gameplay is close to being similar to ETQW. I want to play something new that has an objective based gameplay, and also a class system, which I think ETQW has.

nope…they dont even can run it at all, so why talking about it anyway…

you ever played quake4 online :?
uh yeah, and on a 7300 LE too. Light edition is basically a stripped down version, and cannot run most first person shooter games smoothly, with the exception of doom3, quake4, and prey. And yes, I’ve been playing quake 4 online without any flaws, and on High quality too.
Don’t underestimate the power of the 7300 LE
Or maybe the guys who made the computer made a mistake, shoved a better video card inside, but they put a sticker on the comp that says 7300LE, and they put a price tag on that comp as if it had a 7300LE. I don’t know.
The article seems to be confirming some of my fears about the game.
Splash damage seems to be removing elements from its predecessor titles (Quake 4 and ET) rather than adding them.
Quake 4’s physics and ragdolls were top notch. Ragdolls in the multiplayer aspect work, and work well, and yet this has been removed for some unspecified reason.
Both ET and Q4’s movement was smooth, unrestrictive and easy to handle, however the article seems to suggest that this has been removed in favour of a slower movement system.
The lack of swimming underwater is just obscene. Removing an integral feature like this because of map balancing is purely poor map design. Put clippings in if you can’t find some other way around it.
Personally I don’t understand why developers feel the need to remove good features from titles. It just makes the game feel less immersive, less complete, and lesser than the previous title.
