i got you, i wasn’t saying we need to see everything . i’m still convinced we haven’t seen all of container city.
but i’m still not convinced deep inside, you wouldn’t mind to see an itsy.bitsy more, dontcha?
Container city map
No I really don’t. If Container city is representative of the rest of the maps then I can leave it as it is and delight myself in exploration later on.

I wouldn’t mind seeing more on Brink, but not necessarily new maps. I would much prefer diving deeper into into the abilities or Challenges or customization. Perhaps overall rundowns of each class individually.
Like Tok said, exploring a game world for the first time on your own is great. Most of us already know a great deal about the underlying factors (classes, SMART, abilities, etc) why not just keep releasing more info in those departments? I am sure at some point SD/Bethesda will release a map count, names of maps, screens, whatever, but I would rather them do as little as possible, for marketing, rather than have players already knowing the maps the first time they play.
Ok, so what other maps are there? I’ve watched every Brink video there is and, so far, zip. Got a link?

screenshots, ever heard of them?
there’s Container City, The Shipyard, Reactor, that sewer map with the beard having hobo, that entry gate map that has a sign that say "WE ARE HERE FOR YOUR SECRURITY,The map with the caution tape could be another.
I wouldn’t mind knowing what the maps are seeing as it’s just a Muliplayer game (for me personally) but yeah if it was a full blown single player game I certainly wouldn’t want to know too much and I guess that’s why others don’t want to know for Brink much because they are interested in the story side of things and would like to explore the maps on their own with little to no ‘spoilers’ as they are trying to do the whole blending of single and muliplayer with a story.
well, i drop it! bottom line we all can agree, we need a new fix. i’d very much see gameplay form the resistance side of container city or guns trailers with in game footage.
Walking around valley for the first time, on my -then- brand new pc with my -then- big-ass screen is something that will remain etched in my memory for as long as I don’t get alzheimers.
Well, I’m not counting screenshots. Unless I see a video of someone’s character running around a map; as far as I’m concerned, that map doesn’t exist (yet).
As for the reactor stage, I wasn’t aware that that was seperate from the other maps they’d shown. Unfortunately, a few of the maps look too similar to distinguish them from other ones.
Thanks, folks.

-.- why would they release the screens if they didnt exist? its not like its concept art, its not even a bunch of empty maps but maps with people in it.

aha? well, you sir, do not exist. for i have not even seen a picture of you
as for looking too similar, have you even glanced at them???
Like not having a build order in an RTS while your opponent does. Imo learning the mechanics and basic map layouts in a PvP are just a prerequisite chore before the fun begins. Maybe it’s just gotten old hopping around so many hl and hl2 mods.
Ha that’s nonsense. SC2 is just as much fun without a build order, any RTS is. Look at what you’re saying here ‘prerequisite chore’. The first phase of any game is incredibly fun because of that exploration, of going through something new and you’re planning on making it a chore?
I don’t plan on making it a chore. It is a chore to me if I also have to compete against players who have already done it. Not starting out with a build order may be fun but if you’re competing against someone it may also slow you down in comparison or make you spend resources on unnecessary research and structures.
I’m referring to knowing the basic layout of objectives, here.
Exploration is always one of the first things I do but you never find everything. Then you learn new tricks and gain new ideas by playing and learning from playing online and seeing what others are doing.

I don’t plan on competing the first time I play the game. I’ll be the happy tourist.
