no1 would buy the game, people spend £2-5000 on gaming rigs, they dont want to play a game that doesnt use all physX and other code from the future tech world that abuses the extra processing power consoles cannot do, after they have checked out renderer, its then the physics and movement and other little things, then they might play the game

So realism is a pretty ****ty standard to measure games up to? Who would’ve thunk!

(king_troll) #63

if you stand on a fire extinguisher, you shouldnt roll or fly to the other side of the room, and cardboard boxes dont bounce, and 1000s of other small things, PC gamers want real, all FPS games have the same examination when they get a PC release and a few months of hate

(tokamak) #64

You’re honestly the first person I’ve heard complaining about that. You take your occupation very seriously it seems.

(Dthy) #65

You’re only stating what you want. Personally, i don’t realistic FPS’s, because all FPS’s would eventually end up being the same thing. I’d rather a balance of insane, unrealistic FPS’s and realistic FPS so i can play one which fits my current mood.

(king_troll) #66

its not what i want, its what all people want who spend £2000+ of hard earned monies on a gaming rig, there is no real point in paying attention to reviews of PC FPS games and all the forum posts, most are not actually about the game, its about how the engine works and realism

(DarkangelUK) #67

No they don’t.

(tokamak) #68

People want spectacle, not realism.

(king_troll) #69

people want realism, its why most FPS games will have every part of the engine go under the microscope when new FPS games are released, you will not get a mention of the engine in a review of a console FPS post, console are duff and cannot handle all of the extra processing for physX etc and why people buy new vid cards a few times a year when the code and drivers get updated for something new. 10mhz makes absolute no difference in anything

Who do you think you are to tell everyone who spend money on a gaming rig to tell what they want? I want what I want myself, not what you think I’m supposed to want because I spent money on a rig. I happen to enjoy playing Strogg on my expensive gaming rig more than ANY other realistic shooter, please explain that with your theory

(king_troll) #71

whos telling who, people already dedicated to games and spend £2000+ on gaming rigs, they will examine every part of a games engine when a new game is released, most reviews todo with PC FPS games are nothing todo with the actual game, they are written by the dedicated who are talking 99% about the engine and nothing more

console game reviews are 100% about the game and have nothing todo with what the engine is doing or physics is, or the detail of the hair on some ai arms and beard

Everyone thinks this is awesome and nobody is complaining about how unrealistic this is. People want beautiful graphics and couldn’t care less about unrealistic mechanics if it made the game more fun to play.

(king_troll) #73

renderer is secondary, if you want a picture, render some terrain in terragen or look outside your window, PC gamers do other things then just play games and know how a object should move in theory, and bad physics will be what most of a review is about, if you just make a game then its just a game and can have any physics you want because its just a game and nobody should really care, but its just how it is when it comes to the PC

(Nail) #74

this is the truth, games are about entertainment
