A clanmate was banned the other day from Chicg. They won’t activate my registration to reply …so i’ll post it here. Thought it was pretty funny.
According to SuperDummy (Admin at ChiCG) the first screenshot is a wallhack. Its a teammates status bar which stays on the screen for a sec even after turning (i’m sure everyone knows that though)…lmao…plus if someone was behind that wall they’d be in the void…since theres nothing there.

The second screenshot is what the admins are saying is a brightness hack…woooow

This SuperDug thinks he really caught someone and actually posted the evidence …unlike last time. I just can’t believe theres a player out there that’s really this stupid…let alone being allowed to be an admin. SuperDug…you have got to be the biggest moron in ET and way to making CHiCG more of a laughing stock then they already are. Never seen a more clueless bunch over there ggs…

Personally i’ve never played there since i know how lame they are…but a few of my clanmates like to do the 64 player thing sometimes.

I wouldn’t normally agree with using this forum to air such issues, but yeah that is funny (or tragic depending on your point of view).

Screen 1:- residual health bar after cursor moves away from a player, happens all the time.

Screen 2:- r_picmip 3 and r_mapoverbrightbits 3, both within PB (and most league) restrictions. That’s what I use, and that’s how my screen looks (on PB screenie’s as well).

Just as well it’s a 64-player server (and in the US I presume) so I’d never play there, just as well as I’d presumably also be banned.

HAH! Shot 2 is hardly bright…you should see mine. I run with mob (map over bright bits) at 3, picmip at 3 and r_gamma at 3 :x
And as for shot one. I should be banned several times over! I mean that happens to me like 10 times every map. Its a bug, and allways will be.
And if it just shows team makes names…how does that make it a cheat? o_O

I have no words for this situation, when I started reading abner’s post and the comments, I spit on my screen from laughing. If nothing else, we’re all getting a few laughs out of the whole thing. I feel pretty bad for the people being accused for cheating though, one of my own clanmates went through this a while ago but at least one of the non-clueless chigc admins reinstated him even though abner thought he had cheated (same brightness issue with his pb ss, I guess they havn’t learned yet).

The fact is tho its not really an ‘issue’ at all.

Just dont play on there servers. If anything, spread the post and let other players see how bad there adminning team is, or at least, that member. Then again, slap for playing ShrubET. :>

The problem is pgh the player will not only be banned from the chigc servers - they pass their ban list on (punkbusted?) - so unless it is brought into the daylight there is a chance that their ignorance will effect a players ability to play on more than one server…

I agree with bubba, in theory abner can run his server how ever he wants but if he wants to go and insult a good bunch of the et community then the chigc cround deserves to have people pounding down their door complaining. The other thing that I’ve noticed is that the only response that comes out of most people who defend chigc is to call the person making comments a retard or an asshole.

Couldn’t Splash, Activision and PunkBuster get together and develop some qualification system for Admins and Server ghods? Something that makes them have to qualify for the positions? Something like minimum levels of maturity and sanity? :wink:

I have a friend who got onto one system and after one game was barraged, by an admin, with some pretty nasty and ugly racial slurs regarding being African-American. Interestingly, this friend is white.

I guess some people have a problem with reality…

also the team name is when he was loking at a teammate and turned around quickly, it takes a second for the screen to clear
