just to say that something must be done about cheats like aimbot and wallhack or many people will quit playing on public servers, at least for a while, like i did today.Lately the amount of people using it has increased dramatically, at least in the server that i usually play…
Cheats and game quitting
Play on other servers then. I only play on Punkbuster enabled servers and I’ve never seen a cheat, ever.
I’ve never actually encountered any cheaters whilst playing, maybe you should take a demo and send it to pb.
big lol on that, especially the last part…
no clue, simply lol.
pb is updated all the time, with useless crap.

Merely stating a fact, care to explain what you mean?
Joker, Kendle has more clue in his little toe than you have in your entire body tbh. :banghead:
QUICK EVERYONE! PUNKBUSTER NEEDS YOU TO SEND THEM DEMOS OF RANDOM PEOPLE! ONLY YOU CAN SAVE ET FROM THE CHEATING INVADERS!
There are always ways around pb. I got a working wallhack that works on pb enabled servers. Sad, isnt it?
Your not wrong m8.
Especially considering you have it downloaded and on your computer
Punkbuster isn’t, and has never claimed to be perfect. Fact is, we are better off WITH punkbuster than without it.
Ok FACTS ABOUT PB:
New cheats will always work with PB for a limited time. When the cheat gets released, PB need to update to include the new protection against it. Is this optimal? No hardly. Are there any better things out there? Nope. The good thing is that you can never be safe on a PB enabled server, a new update can arrive at anytime.
Numerous cheats has already been stoped. Yeah everyone seems to think that just because cheats work on PB for a limited time means that PB is useless, and that just is not true. It has stoped a lot of them, but would this game even be playable without PB? I dont think so.
PB makes it harder to find working cheats. Since it detects new cheats all the time also means that a lot of the cheats out on the net simply just wont work. Meaning you need to spend more time looking for them and be quick to use them before they stop working.
Overall I think PB does a good job, as good as you can hope and expect from it even. It’s not perfect but without it the game would not be playable because of all the cheats spread around. Nothing really points at cheats getting more spread, it seems to be a constant low factor. I’m not naive, cheats exists but not to the point that it bothers me atm.

I have seen pb kick over 12+ peeps in the past 4 months due to hacks of some kind. Seems to be working on those pathetic players
Got me a logfull of people who are banned from my server due to wallhacks and aimbots who probably could argue that PB works very fine indeed.
it takes evenbalance at least 15 days to release a patch for a cheat.
it takes the creator 5 minutes to get past it.
in my 6 months of playing et i’ve seen 1 person kicked for a wallhack.
i’ve encountered some incredibly good players who i’ve seen accused of cheating, rather than being praised for their skill and tactical nous.
and i’m proud to say i have mailed some et hacks to evenbalance (i found them on a popular bit torrent site), and was chuffed when i got an email back thanking me for it.
can any of the pb naysayers explain to me what they mean by “pb sucks” or “15 days - 5mins” or “updated… with useless crap” in slightly more detail? you know, get technical if you like, because from where i’m sat you seem to be disparraging a relatively fledgling company without any real basis.
and seeing as the et community is one of the consumers of this product i would imagine any company looking to work with evenbalance in the future would refer to forums such as these to hear “the word on the street” - i.e. mindless/groundless negativity could harm what i consider to be a worthwhile company.
Once again, my argument rings true that there should be more Lan-parties in the UK more often.
At a Lan party you can have a RealLife™ ref installed who can walk round and spot a cheat.
The cheater will then, of course, have his head kicked off his shoulders by the other players.
Apparently the pain is very realistic when you ‘violence’ someone using the RealLife™ Engine.
wait till it really kicks off
