I got sort of tired of the whole thing so I started adding all guid’s that had “wallhack” or “aimbot” in the kick message into the permanent PB banlist, after 17 persons there hasn’t been one kick in several weeks :drink:
Ok, there’s always a chance that these kinds of players gets new guid’s and new cheats, but hey it’s a game, you win sometimes, you loose sometimes and if they have to work that hard to get a cheat to keep ahead of PB patternfiles I think I can stand loosing a game every now and then, basically I don’t really care as the main point for me is to have some fun and it can be just as fun even if you loose.
Anyway, atm I’m running a 3-campaign scenario with 10 custom maps, so I get more “dedicated” players, somehow I imagine downloading all these maps just to (possibly) be kicked the moment you enter the game is not that tempting, although it still happens, but currently mostly for banned cvar settings instead.
Though I sometimes feel that there could have been more configuration possibilities in PB, like for instance enabling banning instead of kicking for specific cheats selectable by the server admin, i.e. I would for example have set all aimbots/wallhacks to bans, and keep the cvar errors to kicks as they are today.
