Cheat or Not ?

I was in a game this week when I noticed a player being extremely accurate and having a high kill rate, I decided to spectate him half way through the map and make a demo. The demo is HERE I noticed his crosshair making sudden movements and he seemed to target people through walls, The player in question was LUMPY, could you take a look at the demo and tell me what you think. Second opinions are always welcomed and I havnt played ET for that long, but he just seemed a little suspicious in his aiming and movements. The server we was on was running Punkbuster.

He’s clearly using a wallhack, I’m not sure about an aimbot because his aim sometimes is good, sometimes is bad. But most of the time too good to match his other ‘skillz’ (movement, reloading, weapon switching are all bad and the dyna defuse lol)

LOL thats what i thought also, and his nade throwing was quite bad to.

Seen and discussed it before.

Obvious cheating… he got perfect aim and knows where the enemy is. AT the same there are numerous mistakes that reveals that he isnt a pro at all.

Imo the guy is a blatant wallhacker and almost certainly an aimbotter.

Like said above there are many things that betray him:

(i) His lack of movement skill/co ordination

(ii) His shooting at people he cannot even see (perhaps hear but not know at which height level)

(iii) His TERRIBLE grenade skills

(iv) The way he is obviously bad with mainstay combat skills (nades, movement) but able to get headshots on almost EVERY firefight no matter the distance.

(v) The way he goes Soldier with an MP40 (not Lvl 4)

and of course the classic

(vi) Dyno defuse attempt.

It seems as if he was a very bad player using a very effective wallhack/aimbot combination.

Anyone who knows anything about PB knows that it is pretty much a gimmick and for competition regulation settings anyhow.

I searched out a few cheats and tried them myself on my housemate’s PC to see how terrible PB actually is and they all worked like a charm…hope you all trust me now :uhoh:

I deleted the files straight afterwards tho…looks like i may be the subject of a few demos too now i have been brave enough to damn PB with my own XP of it.

Hope u sent the cheats to evenbalance so they can make PB effective against them.

I havnt , what do I do, send them the link to the demo i made? and where do i go to get to Evenbalance?

That is so blatant. Made me laugh, that guy on allies who said “he’s just good”. lol, should have told him to spec him for a while.

Yep, blatant, and the 2nd I’ve seen now on a PB server (seen them before on non-PB servers but that don’t count IMO).

Poor skills, and in one instance he gets into a 1-v-1 and does real bad, then the next second he pops his head round a corner and headshots the guy, like he didn’t have the aimbot on, then released, switched it on, and was back in guaranteed headshot mode.

Stuff like this should be reported to www.evenbalance.com and I’d also report it to the server Admin, the KK Clan. They might have logs and be able to ban his GUID (though he can easily get another).

If you run the demo, and put /r_showtris 2 on, you can see how he ‘traces’ the enemy behind walls.

personally, I’ve always thought PB was useless.

It just lags me and my P3-450MHz computer and kicks me off of servers that have /pb r_picmip 0 2. (cuz I play on r_picmip 3, which is even recommended to play at for slower computers in the instruction manual)

And another example of PB not stopping cheaters, cuz it doesn’t really, it just stops cvar abusers.

S}{IT_S}{OT. thx for posting. Im watching it now. (It is set to ultraslow speed now, while Im typing this.) That player is really bad. See how he doesnt reaload at all, at the crusial moments. (Always reload, when you get the chance.)

EDIT: Yes, at 7.55 I can see that moment. The one Kendle talks about (“in one instance”). He performs really bad - then suddenly stops for 2 sec. As if to push a key (activate something). THEN, suddenly, his next 2-3 shots are if not Godlike atleast 1337-gaming headshots (and the poor opponent falls like a rock).
Thanks again. THis demo gave me an insight to parts of ET that I didn’t not know anything about before.

  1. Your PC is under spec’ed for ET to start with, so I suspect it isn’t PB that’s causing you lag.

  2. Server Admins decide what value to kick for picmip, not PB, it merely implements their decisions.

  3. PB has caught and banned about 80 wallhackers on the servers in my sig. Maybe it’s missed a few, but that’s 80 less wallhackers to worry about than there might have been.

Wow, I hear people talking about aimbots and stuff, but I didnt think they actually worked.Anyway, even my little experience tells me its a hack…Im a noob and Im not that bad. It’s crazy how the cursor locks on to his head everytime. I wish I could have seen his stats though. Anyway, is there a hack that prevents headshots?? Cause I was nailing this other guy the other night and he wouldnt die…

Just watched the demo, and I think its both. He looks like a medicore player and yet he is able to aim perfectly. I know there are some people that aim that well, but I dont think he is one of them. Besides, a cheater is a cheater :bump:

wouldnt say aimbot as it would auto track the enemy on a few occasions you can see it doesnt.

But watching the demo with \r_shownormals 1 then its a clear wallhack unless he thinks the walls are then enemy too :confused:

How can you watch that demo, and say that? It’s so blatant it’s not even funny. Watch where his crosshair goes, and where his shots go EVERY TIME he fires. I’ve seen aimbots in action, and it looks exactly how it does in that demo.

There are several “new” cheats/hacks out which arent always detected inmediatly by PB or not at all, but after a few days sometimes a week or two PB detects them but the “hackers” will make a new version of the hack and it will work again for awhile.
Most of them arent detected 100% by pb as a wallhack but with another error in the logs and people report that they played 2/3 hours and get kicked by pb, as soon as evenbalance is aware of a new hack they try to solve it asap.

Working/undetected hacks atm include the following options:

Wallhack - several modes to set the max “look through” mode
Colored models
Colored Items
No fog/smoke
Aim key
Aim at
No recoil
Zoom mode
Team names

And probebly some others im not aware of, a few days ago a new hack whas “made” and i did send it to research@evenbalance.com

To know the hacks is to beat the hacks.
