cheat or not? well... watch a crosshair snapping on players!

(]UBC[ McNite) #1

Hey guys,

we had the honor of having SENF DODDSY playing on our server for some maps tonight. Only we soon got curious about how he got his accuracy and amount of headies… so we started to spec him and recorded demos.

What s funny is this: his crosshair was able to snap on players and players heads.
Have a look for yourself watching this demo

When you watch it, watch closely at these times:
9:20
9:07
8:52
8:24
8:05
7:30
7:20
7:15
5:34
5:21
4:20
3:40
2:00
1:30

Its best to watch with playernames on because then u can see where the players are he s going to shoot at.
We got 2 or 3 more demos… I can upload and link them too, but this demo is already pretty good to watch.

His details from our serverlog:

Now for the funny part: if I m right, SENF plays Clanbase… and if u read the CB rules on cheating… i d say this demo is going to be trouble for them.
I m not a member of CB so i can’t post this on their side… but if any of you thinks this might be worth the effort… feel free.
Also… when u go on their homepage and click on clan leader… u get his email…

(Ragnar_40k) #2

You should post the other demos too, since this one doesn’t convince me that he is a cheater.

(Elixa') #3

I was also playing with a doddsy in the kaz server, and i also thought he was a bit suspicious, i didnt accuse, or make a demo as he disconnected before i got a chance to, after watchin that demo i definatly think a wallhack, i watched it once true normal then once true with r_shownormals, he is sittin there lookin at the wall, then primes his nade to kill, he done this a good few times, the nades were what done it for me. i think this is a definate wallhack. > McNite if your recording a demo try bringing up his player stats so you have an idea of kills headshots etc.

(Elixa') #4

Ragnar watch it with r_shownormals, when allies are blowing main gate, the way he throws the nade.

(]UBC[ McNite) #5

Hm i don’t know how to evaluate these lines but I m sure some of you do, so here are his stats from the demo I linked:

20:12.18 score: 129 ping: 23 client: 8 ^3SenF^1|^2Doddsy^7
20:12.19 WeaponStats: 8 2 2116121 2 20 1 0 0 100 250 16 11 24 133 352 23 10 30 7 15 5 2 0 0 1 0 0 0 4 5 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 5878 4116 34 40 13 21 48 14 67

When looking at stats though bear in mind that its most likely that u can toggle a bot on and off. So the stats can be faked down.
What is amazing is how fast and accurate the crosshair moves onto players (“snaps on them”), and how it stays on them without overcompensating (look at fighting around the truck after the main gate is blown). Then after the gold has been taken when he s coming out of the tunnel from the bunker spawn the crosshair jumps right up onto a player sitting on the crane.
Also u can see him sitting behind the wall at the main gate apparently staring at the wall, the crosshair jumping around. I d say he s locating players that way, using an aimbot that lets the crosshair log onto players.

Another cheater…

Oh Joy

I agree with Ragnar…although there is some fishy crosshair action…it isn’t enough for me to say he is a cheater.
Using \r_shownormals does point out some very fishy points, but I’d like to view the other demos as well.

Also, this may not even be him…I have had several people steal my name from in-game…this is why I no-longer share my in-game names. -It causes hassle.

guaranteed aimbot. didn’t even have to finish it. anyone who isn’t sure is not qualified to make the judgement. no offense to anyone. if you know what a bot looks like, you can see a multitude of dead giveaways in that demo. not only is he cheating, but he’s either really bad at hiding it or he isn’t even bothering to try. because it’s as plain as the nose on my face.

cheating destroys competitive gaming. i’d suggest you go after him and get him banned. don’t allow him or anyone else to delay the proceedings by arguing his innocence. approach every discussion as if he were presumed guilty, because he is guilty (the player in the demo is anyway).

whether it’s really doddsy or not is of course the question. some insight can be gained from what we know:

http://www.clanbase.com/personinfo.php?pid=3408497 shows him as being from the united kingdom.
http://www.whois.sc/81.108.249.77 shows the cheaters ip as being from there as well.

generally, 1+1=2, but not always. i’d suggest giving your info to clanbase. all your demos and your server logs. they will view the demos and come to the only sane conclusion, then cross check that ip with their website logs, and if it is in fact doddsy, he won’t be playing next season

fwiw, as soon as etpro 3.2.0 was made mandatory at clanbase (as you know they held onto 3.1.9 as long as possible), the cheater forums were inundated with posts from people “looking for 3.2.0 hacks for clanbase next season”.

make of that what you will…

imo nowadays it’s absolutely unnecessary to say if one cheats on a pub. if one uses an aimobt and/or a wallhack, it’s very likely that the one uses a fake name as well. what you can do? kick him, ban him. if he/she is really the one he’s supposed to be and he/she uses the bot/hack in a match, then people including clanmembers will find out and the clan is messed up anyway because of that one person.

(Kendle) #10

I’ll reply here the same as I have on ETNation where this thread has also been posted.

Aimbot no, wallhack yes.

Anyone that knows me knows I’m a lousy shot, but even I can aim that well against poor pub players, definately not an aimbot.

However right from the off he’s tracking players he can’t see. Definately using a wallhack I’d say.

The thing is, is it Doddsy? Knowing that Senf have been around a long time, and that Doddsy has always struck me as a genuine bloke (he used to post regularly on the SplashDamage forums), and the fact that the GUID posted has also been used by an unknown and another Senf player, the conclusion I’d come to is this is a hacker fake-nicking as Senf players.

(SenF|Doddsy) #11

Hi there lads… Could you let me know what server this was on as I was only on for about 2 hours yesterday between 4pm and 6pm. I think I was playing on the Kub server to begin with but then moved onto another one with a 10 mapper (SoL i think…).

As one of the 5 founder members of SenF I am proud of the reputation that SenF has in the community. Its a reputation we intend to continue with and if any players in the clan are accused of cheating then we will happy to look into the matter and resolve any issue so as not to muddy al the hard work we have done. I will certainly want to get to the bottom of this… and I will review the demo to give my comments on it.

From the threads I have read I have a feeling its a nik lamer but until I get further info from the demo and you guys then I will reserve that judgement.

I cant stand cheaters myself and wouldn’t stoop so low - the lowest I go is if I’m getting my a$$ kicked I tend to get out the panzer…

(]UBC[ McNite) #12

Replied to u on ETNation forum… was our public SW server 83.142.49.1:27960

(Ragnar_40k) #13

SenF|Doddsy: http://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=playerinfo&idx=595406

Splatterladder also detects when a nick is used by more then one player. When a name appears twice at the same time a note is added in the heading, e.g. like for http://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=playerinfo&idx=433

(SenF|Doddsy) #14

Well, I dont even need to review the demo now that I have seen the Splatter Ladder page posted by Ragnar on SD.

http://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=playerinfo&idx=595406

9 O’lock last night I was on the John Orwell astro in Wapping coaching the Wapping HC ladies 1st and 2nd team (its a dirty job but someone’s gotta do it…) so its a definite nik lamer…

I didnt even play any ET on the 22nd (I was coming back from my annual hockey tour to Hulst in holland and I was in no state to do anything!!). In fact at 3.30pm when this guy was on we was still waiting for a poxy Euro tunnel train as there were no double height ones available to take our coach until 5pm grrrr!

I definitely played on the SoL server though - but I disconnected not long into FuelDump as I had to head off for coaching…

I’ll try and pop on tonight - I’m supposed to go hockey training tonight (i get coached this time!!), but would prefer to stay and play tbh!

Many thanks for bringing this to our attention though… not sure what we can about it from here… although I would like to know who it is.

(Elixa') #15

emm, unless im missing something… it doesnt say that your nick is being used by more than one person? Maybe someone in SD could check the ip he is posting from, with the ip in the first post?

(Sauron|EFG) #16

That was my first reaction as well, but the snapping at some points does look like a bot (see the small avi posted in the thread you linked). The fact that it never seems to snap more than 15 degrees or so makes it difficult to spot, and considering demos sometimes are inaccurate I wouldn’t use this single demo as conclusive evidence (yes, I know there’s more).

Not that it really matters since we don’t know who it is. :stuck_out_tongue:

The IP belongs to NTL according to RIPE btw, is that your ISP Doodsy?

(Kendle) #17

Elixa, in the thread on ETNation it’s reported that the person this is a demo of has also played under the name of a clan-mate of the person who’s name he’s using in this demo, hence the theory this is a fake-nicker out to ruin an honest guys reputation.

Spoof, yeah having had certain sections pointed out I’m open to the suggestion it’s an aimbot as well, tho the wallhack is a lot more obvious and was all I was really taking notice of at first.

(ouroboro) #18

lol.

i was going to go into detail and even make a small movie clip of the “good parts” for demostration purposes, but if you can’t see it, you probably don’t have a clue tbh. also, i’m ambivalent about it because he’s an EU player and i’m NA, so i’ll likely never have the pleasure of facing him and his downloaded aim.

that said, i did the “right thing” and went back to watch it again, since i’m certainly not perfect. well, i couldn’t finish the second viewing either. it wasn’t necessary. the blatant nature of his aimbot is simply stunning.

i am truly baffled that some of you can’t see it. but like i said, luckily i don’t really have to care. you EU players should care though, so you might want to bone up on your aimbot recognition skills.

btw i’m referring to the player in the demo. whether or not he is the doddsy who posted above is neither here nor there. the guy in the demo is from the UK and you EU guys will likely see him again, sadly. we had an instance of cheaters who were caught while aliasing as members of a top NA team recently, so it’s certainly possible that doddsy was being “framed”. even probable if senf is a top EU team (sorry i don’t know your reputation).

(Kendle) #19

I so wish I was you ouroboro

(ouroboro) #20

:stuck_out_tongue: thanks i guess :drink:
