Hey guys,
Right not played this game for years and would like to play again,So i downloded Enemy Territory and installed,Then downloaded Patch 2.60 and installed no problem,The problem im now having now is installing patch 2.60b…i get the error…
Couldn’t load default.cfg - I am missing essential files - verify your installation?

Hi and thanks for replying,But i have installed ET into the default c:\program files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory.
i did not change any install paths yet patch b cant find the game. :rolleyes:
Your error sounds like you started the patch from where you downlaoded it.
2.60b patch, is not a installer. You need to replace the executables in c:\program files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ by the ones from the patch zip archive.

Ahh yes thats exactly what i was doing,Its working fine now i dragged the 2 files from 2.06b patch into the game direct and now the game launches fine and servers are showing with players in!

Do you also know,Is there a permanent way of setting a custom screen res rather than having to type this console everytime i start the game?

Only my screen res of 1920x1080 isnt showing in the game settings.

Arghh now i cant play again,The game is just crashing!
When i done what i said above i launched the game,seen servers and quit because i had something else to do,Now i just started the game again to have a go and its crashing!

Try another ET installer… http://ujeclan.com/downloads.html for example (patched)
AND save your etkey (if you still have one )
Right,I uninstalled the other install…ran ccleaner and cleaned out any crap…installed that version,Updated with PB update and still getting that crash message as soon as i launch the game.

How many Ram do you have?
If you open task manager, do you see smth strange in the graphs? ( like bouncing ram or smth)
Any events bofre or after the crash? (Like AMD driver crash or smth 
)
8GB of ram,Dont see anything strange in task manager when i launch the game…all other games work fine,Just not ET.
as soon a i click on it,get a grey screen and that error.

Before the grey screen, you see a log… There is a copy button, but i guess it is saved somewhere too?
And if you set affinity to one core?
I read on the web, that stackhash crash is related to DEP (Data Execution Prevention) …

Yeah i read about that last night and added ET to the exclusions list but it still crashes.
At first i thought it migh be because im running windows 7 x64,but i also read alot of people have 7 x64 and have no issues with this game so im just baffled.
