You say it worked before? Maybe the resolution just changed back?
Right click ET.exe -> Make shortcut
right click shortcut -> properties
Add to Target line:
+set r_mode -1 +set r_customwidth 1920 +set r_customwidth 1080
You might have to add +vid_restart on the end too, but not sure of that.
Affinity: or in the shortcut (nq) or in task manager i think…
But i guess, aint there some txt log file in your et directory? :s
The game worked once. Now it does always not - with same error as you say.
If you overclocked your system - that might be the culprit I suspect, else everything you did since ET worked once.
So you changed the resolution at first and since then its not working.
Do what stealth said, but I guess it will continue to crash. So then modify the shortcut again (fastest way to configure et and start with certain configs)
and
+set r_mode 4
thats sets resolution back to 800x600 - if the game works then - I would say your system is unstable - even if it works with newer games. Maybe a driver update can fix it aswell - but probably not.
edit: this is not based on my own experience, I read that last time I searched for your error, most likely it was DEP, but all other things pointed to defect RAM, or PSU not being strong enough…

My system has always been overclocked and its stable,I can play BF:BC2 maxed out and get over 100Fps in DX11,GTA IV i get around 55-60fps maxed out…i highly doubt its an unstable overclock or any of the issues you mentioned.
Right an update,After trying diffrent things.
So i downloaded and installed ET again,This time not installing the 2b patch,the game launches fine and servers are showing…and i can join the server and play but all servers only have bots in.
So im thinking the problem must be with the patch,problem is i cant play online against real players if i install the patch because i then get the crash issue.
what you guys suggest now?

I haven’t really read the rest of the thread, but noticed you have Windows 7. Try running in in compatibility mode for Windows XP and always as administrator.
Right i installed patch 2b and the game still works,can join servers but they only have bots in no matter which server i try,So i update Punkbuster with PB tool thinking this is why i cant join servers with real pople in and after updating the game with PB update then i get this problem with it crashing.
So Punkbuster is the culprit,but without it been up to date it renders the game useless because i cant play online!

Maybe you should browse servers through trackers, such as Trackbase or SplatterLadder.
Yay that pack that Seanza posted appears to be working perfect,Just installed the version in that pack adjusted the settings for graphics,set custom res and searched for servers…first server i joined had real players in!..all is good! thanks Seanza!
I just hope it does not mess up again.
