You can buy m4-style stocks for Remington 870s.
Yeah, it is a stylized gun, it isn’t going to be an exact match for any shotgun.
Well, between just the two of you, they have lost 2 of their most active members, one of whom is the prophet behind the holy book of brink. I’m sure there are others who have been banned without as much notice, and it really is a shame that they are doing it just based on the fact that people get annoyed seeing the same thread twice on the first page.
But then again, a lack of strict moderation leads to a thread where new posters are assaulted for asking the same questions we all did. For someone’s first thread, i usually take the time to lead people to the compendium, and show them that most threads have already been done. After I’ve done that, if they make another thread, I don’t hold any punches, and haven’t been warned yet.
Policies preventing you from telling people why you cant talk is rather stupid though. I tell people when I’m going to be away for a weekend, in case they try to contact me. I don’t see how its somehow offensive to tell your forum friends that you aren’t able to respond for a certain amount of time. If anything it would show to the community that people really do get punished, rather than it all being under the table.
Back on topic:
So the current thought I’m pursuing with the Rhett is that it sounds similar to Beretta or Barrett, but im failing to find any connection between Sig Arms and either of those companies. I widened my search to include other companies under Sig (Sauer, Blaser, Mauser) but still cant find anything.
Shadow I’m glad you are so cool and collected all the time. The moderators on the bethesda forums make me feel like this…
It’s nice that you’ve branched out to share your wealth of knowledge over here too. I’m not exactly knowledgable. I just read every article and watch every video I can find about Brink. My wife is consistently pissed at me. I’m working on itemizing youtube videos for you guys so you can pull video reference whenever you want. But that project has hit the backburner for the week. Plus I’m too lazy to set up a spot to host it even though I have all the links set.

Yes, you can buy M4-style stocks for the 870. The stock on the xm1014 and the Mossington is not an M4 style stock. Its a very minimalist expendable stock that consists of a rod and a rubber shoulder pad. They added a cheek rest to that to make something pretty unique looking. The fact that you cant see the difference between the two makes me question your ability to spot the small details that is required to match an in-game gun to a real world one.
Furthermore, yes, some of the guns are stylized, but the vast majority of them are near exact replicas. Exaggerated, sure, but all of the details are there.
@Joss Alon: Its just the way i react to most things, i see no reason to get worked up over the small things. Honestly, it annoys me too sometimes, but a level head will diffuse the situation more than flameing.
Anyway, I’d be really interested in seeing that project of yours finished, need any help with it?

Yeah. I was originally going to do it for myself to answer questions from friends… Basically the project involves dating all the youtube videos that are about brink. First putting them in chrono order. Then cross listing them by developer interviewed rich ham etc. Also events. PAX east E3 and so on. Obviously the most relevant info is going to come from pax east interviews. And I thought I’d go through interviews and link into a section of the interviews by topic. So if you want to know about abilities. I could give you 5 videos where I have the youtube video interviews cued up right to that point. You could see Paul wedgewood, ed stern, and rich ham all talking about class abilities in different interviews. I just haven’t had a lot of time to work on it lately. I haven’t even gathered every single video. There are so many. And I’m doing it in WORD because it’s easier then web editing until I actually put it up somewhere.
You even saw a little hazing (as I call it) here. I understand what you’re saying, but even looking at this place, we police ourselves pretty well considering the lock/warn/ban threshold here. My overall gripe with the Bethsoft forums is that when you treat people like kids, they’re going to act like them, and that’s probably a good reason behind the general maturity gap between here and there.
the Beth forums get more locks every day than the Erie Canal, a post about PCs got locked and poster referred to a thread a year old, it’s getting harder and harder to go there and show any tolerance
I have a question : isn’t the projectile shot at 0:35 in this trailer a rocket ?
Cause it seems like one, and I haven’t seen anything about rocket lauchers beeing in Brink since then… ?

Pause at the right moment and you will see its actually a molitov. I was actually confused by it at first too.

yeah, seems to be a rocket, but no there are no rocket launchers in the game as far as i know. It’s just a cinematic trailer, lots of the stuff they do there you can’t do them in the game
It’s… definitely not. Look more at 0:37 0:38.
I know it’s just a trailer who doesn’t necessarily reflect the actual game… but I was wondering.
Oh, silly me, I assumed you were linking to the Choir of Guns trailer and didn’t actually click the link >.>
That’s the cinematic trailer, and there are lots of things in it that never made it into the game. Such as one hit kill snipers, duel weilding, and customized melee weapons.
The Cinematic trailer for a game is often commissioned while still creating the game, so many of the concepts that the devs originally want to put into the game get cut for different reasons.
I’ll see it’s a molotov?
No I won’t. It’s not a bottle of any kind. It’s a rocket-propelled grenade. Simple as that.
That said, that trailer is a year old and thing change.
EDIT: Ok, confusion averted while I was typing my response, my bad.
I know, I know ! But I was wondering if, perhaps, we haven’t had all the infos about all the aspects of the game, perhaps the would have kept some elements for themselves. There is not a lot FPS multi without rocket launcher… but it’s just out of curiosity, I’m gonna buy the game even if there won’t be any in the final game
I’m fairly certain that devs have confirmed the lack of rockets in the game. Wouldn’t know where to go for a quote, hopefully someone like H0RSE (blessed be his holy hooves) could back me up
Yes, we covered that, I was mistaken, it really is an RPG in the cinematic trailer. However, there is not one in the game.
I don’t think i have ever seen a cinematic trailer that was an accurate representation of the game. If it was, it wouldn’t be called a “cinematic trailer”.
The Caesar for example, is based on the REX revolver. As the Brink Wiki points out, Rex is ‘King’ in Latin, and Caesar (Often westernized to Cesar) was the first emperor of Rome.
Not all of the names have been figured out though. First that comes to mind is the Rhett. No clue where that comes from.
The words kaiser, czar and tsar also derive directly from ‘caesar’. And ‘caesar’ became a title used by subsequent Roman Emperors.
Rhett Butler?
