Yeah I wouldn’t last very long there…
Brink weapons
You’d have a kick watching them write the script for a machinma over 3 threads.
Well, I also detected some biased against me, in the warning PM’s and message’s I received from the mods.
Yeah, I got some warning PMs for calling someone a troll, who claimed anyone who liked the look of the security archetypes was a homosexual. They said I was flaming by calling him a troll and telling him that he had made an ignorant statement.
So the only guns names that I haven’t heard a decent explanation for are the Rhett and Hjammerdeim. Anyone have any ideas?
Ive heard the AA-12 called the “Hammer” before, but the “-deim” part is what is throwing me for a loop.
I always figured it was a reference to “Stop. Hammer time.” personally. And even if it’s not it’s still what I always think of when I see that name. It is, for me, the Hammertime shotgun.
I’ve gotten so many. I can’t even remember half of it. Usually I needed them to explain to me why I was being warned. And even then it was kind of vague. I ended up getting banned for putting an away message up on my profile that said. “I’ve been warned and I’m cut off from the forums until such and such date” and then they got pissy and banned me.
The worst part is once one mod realized you were harmless and just trying to be helpful. Some other mod that never comes in the forum would come in and slap you with a warning out of no where because they just happened to be looking through the forum.
Even their rules for letting banned members come back are ridiculous. If you are banned, and they decide to give you one more chance, you only get 1 warning, and then you are banned again. You also cannot return as the person you were banned as. You need to have a new name and you cannot make any reference to who you used to be.
What is this, witness protection? That’s just weird and shady.
Well, between just the two of you, they have lost 2 of their most active members, one of whom is the prophet behind the holy book of brink. I’m sure there are others who have been banned without as much notice, and it really is a shame that they are doing it just based on the fact that people get annoyed seeing the same thread twice on the first page.
But then again, a lack of strict moderation leads to a thread where new posters are assaulted for asking the same questions we all did. For someone’s first thread, i usually take the time to lead people to the compendium, and show them that most threads have already been done. After I’ve done that, if they make another thread, I don’t hold any punches, and haven’t been warned yet.
Policies preventing you from telling people why you cant talk is rather stupid though. I tell people when I’m going to be away for a weekend, in case they try to contact me. I don’t see how its somehow offensive to tell your forum friends that you aren’t able to respond for a certain amount of time. If anything it would show to the community that people really do get punished, rather than it all being under the table.
Back on topic:
So the current thought I’m pursuing with the Rhett is that it sounds similar to Beretta or Barrett, but im failing to find any connection between Sig Arms and either of those companies. I widened my search to include other companies under Sig (Sauer, Blaser, Mauser) but still cant find anything.
The XM1014 its based on is a semi auto, but based on the Choir of Guns video, you can see that the guy pumps the shotgun after doing his slide shot. So it appears to be pump action in game.
I don’t see a lot of similarities to the xm1014. It looks like a customized Remington 870 to me. You can get all sorts of stocks and grips and rails and other accessories for pretty much any shotgun.
Its a fair criticsm, and when I first identified the gun, all i had to go on was the icon in the weapon select screen. Decided on the XM1014 because the stock is just that iconic. On taking a second look, I notice that the Mossington doesnt have a charging handle near the ejection port where the XM1014 does.
I’ll look into finding maybe a better match now that I have screenshots.
Edit: Although, they may have just removed the charging handle if they decided to make the 1014 into a pump action shotgun.
my bet would be the 870 as well, it’s the single most iconic pump action in the world, plus I’m very partial to Remington guns
The pump handle is pretty clearly based off of the 870, with that lip it has.
The magazine cap and stock are more 1014 than anything else.
But in the two good screenshots I’ve found of the Mossington, it seems to have a two piece receiver that I haven’t seen on any real world shotguns.
The lower receiver also seems to have a large hinge on it, so it looks like whatever gun they based the receiver off of has the ability to break down the middle like the REX revolver does, for some reason.
Other than that, there aren’t too many distinguishing features, other than maybe that big beefy barrel reinforcement behind the magazine cap. But that could just be exaggerated to fit Brink’s style.
just looking at the resistance mossington in the “It Bleeds” shot and it looks like a Benelli M4 stock and grip
