It shows the Gerund and the Kross. Gerund is full-auto with lots of recoil from the looks of that vid. Drum mags, foregrips and I think the sights are called reflex sights in real life terms. Not sure what Brink calls them.

something like mini-14 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini-14
or SU-16 or even PLR-16 with scope[probably something like C7/ACOG]will wit Brink para-sniping way more, IMO.

Well, SD decided to put it in anyway. For most of this list, I was just looking at the icons in the following link

And trying to find the real world gun, in this case the SR-93 patches perfectly. I guess you can disagree with the choices SD has made as a dev, but I think its clear that it is in fact the SR-93 in the game.

Besides, there is already an M1 Garand style rifle in the game (The Garund AR based off of the M14) as well as an SU-16 based weapon (The CARB-9 SMG based on the SU-16E with a stock from the SU-16A/B)

I don’t have the issue with the Beth forums that many others seem to. One of the main purposes of a game forum before launch is to educate and cause interest in the masses. And to that end, the Beth forums are doing just fine. The negative part is that involves a lot of people coming and asking the same questions, but at least it means people are showing interest.

On the other hand, the SD forums seem to be more about sifting through the information for the details of the game, which is why I thought some of the posters here would be interested in this list.

Bethforums=Knownothings with some Knowledgeable individuals
SDforums= Cranky Elitist Knowitalls with the occasional well adjusted individual who stays in touch with reality.

They both have their positives… but I’m not banned from here and the mods are actually the DEVS and that RULES!

My main issue over there is the maturity level, which the mods cultivate by removing any slightly adult conversation that takes place. Plus most of the threads are polls in the vein of “What’s your favorite color?”

That said you’ve always been a standout, and I’ve respected you even in disagreement.

So anyway, back on topic, I’ve been thinking of expanding my list to include the real world counterparts to attachments, which would mostly be pointing out the producers of each particular variation. Thoughts?

Could also start adding where the names come from, some of them are fairly straight forward, while others are a little less obvious. The Caesar for example, is based on the REX revolver. As the Brink Wiki points out, Rex is ‘King’ in Latin, and Caesar (Often westernized to Cesar) was the first emperor of Rome.

Not all of the names have been figured out though. First that comes to mind is the Rhett. No clue where that comes from.

Don’t forget Wraith. And Nail. And Revo. And I had my ok posts until I got banned. The moderators at bethsoft are afraid that “bad attitudes” could drive away prospective customers. It’s all about the cash flow. So you’re not allowed to say that a stupid statement is stupid. Not even if you’re civil about it. And don’t discuss your punishment upon being punished or you’ll get double and then triple punished.

Bethsoft is a great forum and I gathered a lot of great information over there. And the overall attitude of the long term posters is much more helpful then on here. It’s just holding your tongue as the idiot parade marches through that’s taxing on one’s nerves.

At the same time there’s a lot more room for debate here… even though at times that seems to be all that ever happens.

Right on. I think SD understands that we’re not children and don’t need to be treated like them. They’re much more willing to let us TCB in this forum. Plus the mods are pretty much useless other than for closing threads and whining over there.

And yes, Wraith and Nail do their best to anchor things in reality as well. I’ve always wondered what happened to HORSE over there. I guess he was banned?
