Yup, I did say it, and I still think it’s the right thing to do. However, it’ll be a server setting for those who want it off, but by default in a ‘standard’ game, bot’ll fill in the cracks…
Bots ?
That’s a joke or a smart move, depending on the AI.
I’m not sure if that will turn out well.
I will trample you with my :stroggtapir:
I have a server side suggestion not knowing what the options will be but here goes my request. Can you please set the match to start automatically after certain amount of time or when 70% of the players are ready. The problem with some games is that it need the host to press the start button before the match starts and alot of the time the host will be alway from their machine to press the start button which will piss off everyone in the room.
gee, you console kids have it rough, PC gamers play on dedicated servers, always running
gee, you console kids have it rough, PC gamers play on dedicated servers, always running
I don’t really understand why many console games don’t feature joining running matches. I have seen Far Cry 2 multiplayer on my flatmate’s xbox and it’s really annoying. You want to join a game, land in the lobby and 10 players are waiting for the host to ready up and there is literally nothing you can do about it. -_-’
Well, I’m going to get this game for both PC and console. As much as I know how great & flexible PC gaming are, most of the time I find myself playing on console since it is more convenient for me to sit in my living room instead of being in my computer room. That is why I want to know the difference between these platform. And if SD can make the console platform close to the PC version, it would be awesome for me.
I suggest a couple of old school ET:QW suggestions:
-
the “infiltrator” style class should be able to “hack” turrets to not disable them, but retarget to shoot the other team!
-
be able to pick up enemy weapons or same team weapons of dead enemies/team mates.
-
Battlfield 2 squad system for setting waypoints, voip, gaining xp, squad unlocks and SPAWNING!!!
-
xp related unlocks should provide variety not an edge, like instead of better guns due to higher ROF or DPS, have less DPS but have a stun option, or DO more damage but have less ammo. So that those that are on for 500 hours don’t obliterate new comers due to the bigger clip, higher damage uber unlocks they have. Instead they have different methods of equal value. in other words make sure it stays paper scissors rock regardless of unlocks!
That is all for now!

Nice suggestions. All i can say for now is
[ul]
[li]one of those is in the game as you suggest now
[/li][li]one of those is in the plans and is being worked on right now
[/li][li]one we’d like to do, but not sure about the tech of it
[/li][li]one we’re not doing
[/li][/ul]

When I asked this Rahdo’s responce was, “Request noted”
Guess we’ll have to wait and see

That is brilliant!! I am loving you guys more and more.
Can tell you guys are TRUE gamers, as you value our feedback which leads to a better gameplay experience and COMMUNICATE that back to us! (* small tear forms in the corner of NIDCLXVI’s eye)
I am happy with:

As a support player (as in I play anything to support the current team configuration) I am really interested in how I can ascertain the team loadout quickly while attempting to join a game. Like the Limbo Screen.
To that end, having a number of “preset loadouts” would be nice , say 3.
You know the drill, having a sneaky config, a support config, and a K:D ratio config.
Will something like this make it’s way in? It will help reduce “not ready” time (press 1, 2 or 3 then “ready” and also help in Clan matches where you are asked to swap roles on the fly.
I have read the “something like” the Limbo screen is in progress, so just wanted to suggest that as well as class profile selection there is also some kind of triangle/hexagonal graph of kits currently in use on your Team.
Each axis being each class with the mission critical one green and the rest amber or a variation of that!
kind of like this:

p.s. how many want ice cream now, lol?

SH has exactly that

AWESOME!!!
yes, that! THAT RIGHT there!
DO WANT!

Thanks tokamak! Good stuff!

Still got a guest pass if you like.
Anyway, it just hit me that the SH example doesn’t really cut it. The graph is only a bunch of bars put it in a circular design. If you want a true areal ‘spider’ graph they need overlapping fields for different set ups.
I’d say that if such a thing were to be added, make it deactivated by default and make it optional.
Otherwise it will just confuse the casual gamer imo.
Similarly to ET where you could summon detailed information about your guns would be best.
