I have another question, on the public multiplayer matches, how long time will Brink take usually in one game.
15 minutes?
Brink Q&A
will the game feature clan tag?
Will it also be a system for clan games when it comes to multiplayer on consoles?
From playing other Splash Damage games like ET and QW, I was curious as to how movement would feel. I’ve scoured the forums and this thread on anything that maybe someone can compare to. The videos I’ve seen are all demos being played on a console. My last purchase, Borderlands, definitely left a sour taste in my mouth after playing it. If any of you have played it on PC, it totally feels like you were playing it on a console. Can anyone elaborate on this or point me in the right direction?
One of the things we would do in QW for laughs - is plant HE charges in the middle of hallways.
In Brink, can players place charges anywhere on the map, or do you restrict them to objectives only?
Are there plans to have airstrikes or something similar, like in W:ET and QW?
Can Engineers build anything other than turrets, or can they build different types of turrets?
How significant is the difference in speed between a Light and Heavy body type?
Do all body types have access to light, medium, and heavy weapon loadouts, and depending on the body type, the weapons change for each loadout? Like a Light body might have a shotgun available in heavy loadout, whereas a Heavy would have a rocket launcher, but all three loadouts are still available.
Is the soldier able to use more weapons than the other classes, like in previous games?
Are there separate customization options for each faction, perhaps as a way of identifying teammates from enemies?

i’ll quote some stuff from the richard ham q&a which you really should read if u haven’t.
Q: Will there be airstrike/support fire, panzerfaust etc… like in f.e. W:ET?
A: we’ve got some nice high explosive weapons and items, but no airstrikes… doesn’t fit the fiction of the world, and it wouldn’t work well on a lot of our indoor environments (some levels are 100% indoors).Q: Will the heavy class not only have stronger but also more weapons than other classes available at the same time?
A: Heavy guy gets more gunz available to him than anyone else.Q: Will the heavy classes be better armored or just have more HP?
A: The differences in body types for healing and toughness and speed are all pretty much in line with what you’d expect, though there is at least one surprise in there as well which we haven’t announced yetWeapons aren’t limited by class, but by body type. So an engineer, for example, can use any weapon he wants, provided he’s strong enough to carry it.
on the “identifying teammates from enemies”-topic the only thing i’ve come across so far is the dev diary #2 from olivier.
the color restrictions in the palettes we’re using for each faction
but these replies are rather old. so ho knows. sd might know (or are able to tell more) better now :]

The charges are restricted to specific locations, but that doesn’t mean that sort of fun is gone completely… There are other abilities that have more freedom, hopefully we’ll be able to talk about them soon.
:stroggbanana:
I’m thinking for the “identifying teammates from enemies” Security will have more ‘professional’ and traditional soldier outfits, while resistance will look like thugs, ravers, and gangbangers (like in the screens)
was there an answer somewhere stating if there would be a limbo menu? Or is the class change thing only happening near the command post?

I must admit, I’m slightly perturbed that charges are restricted to specific locations. cough
Nonetheless, Im sure you guys will make up for it somehow. Looking forward hearing about the other features of Brink :stroggbanana:
Also, will there be a demo? If you are planning on a demo it should be like the UC2 multiplayer demo was handled. With the demo expiring as soon as the game comes out which will in turn lead people to buy the game or face the effects of withdrawal.

time to A some Q’s, though i fear the majority of them will be, sorry, can’t say yet.
Let’s see, for starters… sorry, reanim, can’t say yet. We’re quite aways out. Don’t have a final plan for demos or beta or any of that. hopefully more info in the new year…
How long is the campaign in hours?
How many missions is it in the game now?
How many “side” mission in each missions have the game now?
This are some of the question i have about brink.
and good questions they are. Right now, we’re aiming to have a campaign experience that’s comparable to other AAA shooters. But we’re still aways away from hitting alpha, so we don’t have a final count yet, for any of these actually. I can say for the 2nd one that right now, it’s looking like levels generally have 2 or 3 core missions that have to be completed by the attackers to win, and each map usually has around 5 or 6 side missions that pop up at various times (some both sides fight over, some are one time deals).
But bear in mind, even though numbers are subject to change. Just wanted to give you something to hang your hat on
currently, we’re balacing the maps so that each one has good overall pacing. we’re not trying to ensure that every map is designed to last exactly the same length. so i expect some maps will be shorter or longer, overall, than others in the shipping game.
