Hopefully longer than Modern Warfare 2
Brink Q&A
Will it be possible to map the controller yourself on the 360?
Hopefully yes. This kind of stuff is really important to me. But otoh, we only have one GUI coder, so his time might get stretched a bit thin. Time will tell…
Also, will there be a demo? If you are planning on a demo it should be like the UC2 multiplayer demo was handled. With the demo expiring as soon as the game comes out which will in turn lead people to buy the game or face the effects of withdrawal.
:stroggtapir:
Or never buy the game because they only found out about it after the game came out and don’t want to buy it without trying a demo first.
This is particularly important on PC so you can tell if it actually runs well or not.
I found this line interesting:
“However, the body type you choose (normal, muscle-bound, acrobatic) does have a significant impact on how the game plays for you, in expected and unexpected ways.”
Perhaps players will have different values in things like speed, maneuverability, health, defense, etc. That would be an interesting twist, rather than all the medics behave the same, and all the soldiers behave the same.
I’m pretty sure that’s how it works, it would make sense. That’s another one of the things thats got me really excited for the game

Yeah, this has been confirmed
And even more than that (different proefficiency or ‘energy bar’ between bodytypes).
Might be time for an update, there’s a lot of new info (compared to the last interviews) that lies scattered around in the forum.
I know in QW there were guns that were decent at mid to long range shooting… such as the accurized lacerator / scope assault. Given that skinny guys have lower HP than the other body types, I would imagine most skinny guys would avoid in close firefights. So my question is - do they have access to weapons that are decent at range?
They will most likely have SMG’s, and pistols, scoped guns or snipers may be reserved for the operative, if not, I can see them having access to those as well. My guess is that the biggest guns skinny guys will have access to are shotguns and AR’s. Maybe the GL. Heavy’s will probably get LMG’s, GL, and RPG’s. You also have to account for the weapon upgrades available in the game, so they may not have access to a viable long range weapons at default, but through upgrades, their guns become much more versatile.
My question is, if Light guys can’t use the big weapons, can Heavy’s still use the small weapons? If they can, that means they can use everything the Light’s can use, plus whatever is ‘Heavy only,’ whereas the Light’s can only use the light weapons.
I doubt the light guy will be able to carry the GL. But I would totally play that way. Light medic with a GL:
sprint -> slide -> shoot (love that FWUMP noise of the GL), kill at least 2 enemies -> revive. :stroggbanana:
True, heavy extends your arsenal to pick from, that’s their advantage over less agility and speed.
GL seems a typical medium weapon.

Well, I was grouping light and normal into 1 group. Normal body’s might be able to use the GL.
i want to know how this stealth class will work with brink being a fast paced run and gun game. i just dont understand how your going to be sneaky.
Maybe they will put secret passages in for the operative like they did for infiltrators in ETQW. Dropping out of the ceiling and backstabbing an unsuspecting engineer planting mines was always fun. :infiltrator:
Oh and I’d expect silenced weapons and disguises to be there in some form.
Stealth classes are mainly about supplying information to the team, that they normally wouldnt have access to. For example they could dress themselves as the enemy, going behind enemy lines while relaying back to their teammates that there are 3 big medics guarding the main objective. Or they might opt to go on an interrogation mission to give them access to radar for a specific amount of time.
And theres probably heaps of other stuff that they can do in Brink, that they havent divulged yet.
