Kinda getting that feeling.
Brink PC Update and New Dedicated Server Released
to show us Bethesda won’t allow SDK
possibly one nail in the coffin containing the life expectancy of Brink… What is it with game devs these days hinting at SDK in pre release interviews then never producing? Borderline false advertising if you ask me. DONT EVEN BRING UP MOD TOOLS IF YOU ARENT TOTALLY SURE YOU WILL HAVE THEM…
im beginning to think Bethesda is evil and whether most of the decisions are up to them and not SD…
How do you know it’s Bethesda? Skyrim will have mod tools and guess who is making Skyrim?
Also, an SDK is the least of our worries right now. The game needs a lot of work first.
Patch feels smoother to me, but I was never checking my FPS before so it’s hard to say. I like the bigger font, makes it easier to read chat, but I agree that this needs to be an adjustable setting. Would also like default global chat to be other than white. I am getting more random crashes to desktop while loading next map since patch. I haven’t noticed the sound bug coming back, and haven’t seen seen invisible players yet (tho I’m only a couple of hours into the patched game).

sorry, an in joke betweeen me and DaUK

Sound still dropping on Security + Refuel, infact even worse now on Security, drops immediatly…Text glitches still present (not sure if you addressed that problem)…FPS wise no change but still average 80-140, no crashes runs well, just that bloody annoying sound bug which kills the game stonedead, so in my eyes a GAMEBREAKER…
Please guys look into it again, i can’t tell you how disapointing it is to find a good server, both teams evenly balanced, having some fantastic games then either 1 of those maps loads and it kills it, game over, head on keyboard…
Win7 64bit
I7 920 Quad
ATI 5870 (11.2)
X-FI soundcard (not onboard, latest drivers)
6 gig ram
Gained 20-30 fps but disappointed that demos and first person pov spectating has not been addressed :[
just played Refuel as Security and the sound was good throughout the match.
Win 7 64bit
Asus P5N-E SLI onboard audio
Core 2 Duo E6420 overclocked @3.2ghz
2gb ddr2 800
- Text glitches still present.
- wasnt following my FPS but it feels smoother now.
Not much of a patch imo. Still sound glitches, text issues, and locked performance related cvars as well as the obnoxious icons and text we have to deal with as medics.
I can wait for game play adjustments, even animation changes such as buffing, because I understand those take time. But I’m really getting frustrated with the lack of the technical issues being properly addressed.
There is also no reason to lock performance related cvars and clutter our view making it impossible to track with sometimes perfectly placed icons/text to eclipse enemy outlines, especially in the distance. These are fixes that can be done very quickly even if say “at your own risk” I’m fine with that.
So, post-patch I am experiencing:
Sound cuts out on shipyard
Narrator doesn’t know how much time is left (says 5 minutes when it’s 5 seconds)
17/16 players in server browser for some servers
Thanks all I can think of now because it’s late. Does the patch need to be in place on client and server for the fix to work?
Thanks very much for all the hard work; I had a great game of Brink last night, game was much smoother for me.
Yay for PC guys.
I’m all about anyone enjoying a game more.
sorry bud, but it’s easier to release PC patches, they don’t need MS and Sony certification. Plus PC is their fanbase at this moment
i still have fps dropdowns in larger areas of the maps (i tested aquarium), just like before the patch.
crosshairs either seem stretched or the size is increased for some guns (carb). spread didnt seem to be increased though. also, i didnt read anything in the changelog that crosshairs or spray got changed. why is that?
im sorry, but this thing isnt called a patch, its a hotfix. how small was it anyways? i didnt even notice steam updated something.
Just remember that we want major re-balance patching, and the xbox community wants a game lobby and easier bots
.

What he said.
This was really nothing more then a hotfix.Ok server side not that was a huge update but client side was like…5 MB?
I have WLAN and download was finished after some seconds. So,not really big.
Changed nothing for me.The last chance is 11.6 now.Otherwise this game will have a nice place in my trash bin.
Oh,before i forget it.Sound bugs are NOT fixed. They are still there.
