It’s just that the PC version needs to drop everything that was initially implemented to accommodate to consoles.[/QUOTE]I don’t see the use of dropping the “console [UI] plastered on top of it” as it alienates users, instead I would try to do it by adding stuff on top of it.
The objective wheel for example might not be as fancy as the map overview in W:ET, but it does help players to orient themselves (having both would have been ideal, but slightly late for that). As such, advanced player could use fixed numbers or letters to quickly pick an objective.
Same with class selection at a command post: add hotkeys for every class and weapon.
And finally, having separate keybinds for “throw revive needle” or “improve/repair/construct stuff” doesn’t mean the “one button to rule them all” needs to be removed, just add those keybinds for the players looking for it.
