Ark does bring up a good point though. If they maybe commented on say the top 5-10 talked about issues. It would most definitely help the community. We also would have a place to direct the majority of posts. It doesn’t really matter if they are going to release it next week, tomorrow or 2 years from now.
What matters most I think… is that peoples concerns are valued. I know they are but people need to feel it. Nobody likes letting people down but I think we would rather be let down than left in the dark. At least we would have SOME idea of what to expect and at the very least what the devs think about our issues. Since obviously they will never please everyone, including themselves.

What I (and perharps a good bunch of Brink players) would love to have, is a small list (even if it’s not 100% accurate) of the “next” fixes incoming. And which “fixes” are excluded so far.
=> If that list says “we’re currently working on the problem A”, there’s no need to post again about it.
=> If that list says “not currently working on the problem B, we will get to it once we fix other (more important) bugs”, there’s no need to wait for it (and rage if that fixe is not here 1 week later).
Or, if that bug is -really- important, you “can” post again about it and how it affects the game experience.

Currently, the more people flood the forum about a problem, the more “important” it looks.
=> If I want SD to fix “my” problem first, flooding/spamming (with alts if necessary) is an efficient way :s (and that’s terrible)

genuine “PC Feedback” : played some Brink again today, as long as the map is not too “chokepointed”, it is very fun.
At every “chokepointing”, the attacking team try a push for 3-4 minutes then give up (and most leave the server).
=> It ends up being a 8 vs 2 (+6 bots) every time 
ps : most players don’t notice it when you give them an Adrenaline Boost, it’s often wasted.
I find it hard to believe that with all the time and hype for the game that this is the best Splashdamage could do. Slow player run and juggernauts AI. What a waste of money.
Favourites filter still doesn’t work correctly.
I can sort by favourites, but when I use it as a source only one or two out of 10 ever show up.

Also, the “make favourite” seems to be broken - once I’ve made a server a favourite, I can’t seem to clear the setting by clicking the star again.
Okay so i’ve played this game since release and followed it for close to a year before its released, this is my first written view on what needs to be implemented in my opinion. My background is from playing competition at the top level in ETQW and currently participating in the ESL championship with sGs. I’m sure many have already touched most of this in this thread and others, but cba to read through 11+ pages and don’t think it warrants a separate thread just for my opinion.
Edit: I Wrote so much that I’ve cut most of the explanation out and just left the key points:
1. Need Demo Support
- More awareness (Youtube Movies) = More Players = more sales (for SD/Beth) + fun (for us) = more $$$ (for SD/Beth).
- For competition:
- Catching cheaters (not a big issue but there are always a few)
- reviewing team’s performance + learn your oppositions tactics and weaknesses for next time.
1.b First Person Spectating (Linked with demo support)
- Publicity in the eSports scene to help groups such as BrinkTV it will lead to more spectators becoming interested = more satisfied customers = support for future games.
2. The HUD - Need much more customizeable options (We are not restricted like consoles)
- Allow us to get rid of the giant white circle around the crosshair
- Let us change the colours of crosshairs!
- The minimap, needs to be moved to top right corner, either put a underlayed map like ETQW, or unlock the cvar’s to allow us to remove it completely.
- Can you please unlock g_playerarrowiconsize as currently name tags + hp bars are way too big and in the way.
- Just to sum it up we need customization like opacity/size options we had in ETQW’s HUD.
3. Balancing Weapons
- Assualt Rifles need a massive buff in terms of long distance iron sight accuracy
- SMG’s are fine for close range and long range, possibley buff a few of the others as Carb-9 + Kross are only choices atm.
- Sniper Rifles need the zoom sensitivity to be removed altogether. Takes me 7.3metres to do a 360 while in scope = rediculous. How can you expect players who train with a certain sensitivity building up muscle memory to change their entire sensitivity just to use the sniper rifles?

- Balancing Body Type[/U][/B]
- I don’t know how to enforce them to be equally used if im honest. All i can tell atm is that light is the only worth while class playing at the moment. Possibly make all strafe speeds similar but the vualting + wall jump feature stays with the light class, while heavy’s and mediums have slightly higher hp. It is the slow running movement that makes them such an easy target to aim at.
5. The USE system + weapon selection
-Whichever genious in SD came up with this idea needs to be shot instantly.
- Please just stick to the normal select your weapon/tool and press mouse 1 to use it. We have so many keys to bind stuff atm, the function of a keyboard is not being fully utilized.
-
Revive system needs improving, so often spent looking at dead players until that little icon pops up allowing you to toss a syringe. Needs to be a quicker revive.
-Weapon selecting would also get rid of the buffing a player standing over a dead body instead of reviving the dead body scenario which happens every game almost for myself.
5. Chat Function
- Add a chat box under the award’s tab at the end of the game. It is such a minor feature however you EXPECT it to be in every game from the beginning. This is multiplayer, you should be encouraging players to interact with each other!

- Server Browser[/U][/B]
-You had the ULTIMATE perfection in server browsers in ETQW. Why have you destroyed it in so many ways! In built clan system + friends list allowing communication. I know you have steam overlay for this but in future games just take a look and completely copy ETQW’s Server Browser, not everything has to be completely revolutionary, if its already been perfected just copy it forgods sake = easy for dev’s allowing more time to focus on other aspects but too late now.
[B][U] - Map Design (Including Spawn timers)[/U][/B]
- Too late to change existing maps i guess.
- Some are decent, just Container City which is massively defense favoured 1st objective. Need to offer more entrances for attackers out of spawn and less height advantages for def.
- Spawn timers could do with tweaking a little as not many maps reach the final objective unless attackers are stacked.
8. Unlock more cvar’s in the console!
- We are PC gamers, we love to tweak and play with the cfg it is a huge part of the game for many of us experienced users. You need to allow us to tweak HUD, and Gfx settings more extensively to suit our own preferences rather than be forced to have a standard setting.
9. Release a SDK!
- I already know you will not have the time or ability to fix all of these issues and many more so just release a SDK so modders can fix the game for you! Believe me they know exactly what your customers want and they do it 10x quicker than you. Also competition will die rapidly after this ESL Championship so i think it would be in your own interests (SD/Beth) to release a SDK so modders can quickly produce a Brink Comp/Pro Mod prolonging the life of competition.
10. Summary!
I love the core elements of teamplay in this game and the SMART system is very nice which is why i am still playing this game actively. I am just afraid that boredom will kick in very soon and this game will die rapidly. The main elements are good but you missed all the minor features that people expect a game to be released with! They may be minor features but they make a major difference to PC gamers. Also ofc, FPS issues do need fixing, 400fps in ETQW (1920x1080) and 50-120 (1280x720) in BrinK?! I do acknowledge that ATI/Nvidia are also responsible for this.

Once i saw the Browser in Brink - i was like WTF is?? RTCW has a far superior browser then is!!
just another sad reminder, Brink is nothing more than a console game ported to PC…

- SD prioritization is on game itself 1st. so, until game run more or less smooth/flawless, talking about “eye candy”-related functionality introduction is prematurely. but sadly, typical for most Steam-shipped, products.
- Skin support ? tweaking UI ?or just stripping immersion/hug/UI completely ?
- there is no need to quick/selfish conclusions like “buff this, “please” and nerf that and that”-sryled, opposed to community/SD-driven suggestions/proposal.
- Brink, like other SD games, not sport, not cyberfighting-related product. its War, not football/chess. so talking anything about “balance” is ridiculous/hilarious, in “best” case.
- server/chat/anti-cheating systems improvements strongly contradict with new SD strategy, ie offloading of creating as much as possibly to 3rd-parties. next logical step would be co-development of game itself with CPU/GPU/Online vendors and/or other entities.
- “unlocking” contradict to “balance” idea, overpromoted by you. just look how many ppl scream about “lag”, caused by configwhores ingame !
- SDK release was questionable and unlikely soon. before christmass, in best case ?

Fireteams:
Add fireteam pop-up menu like ETQW instead of making us go to limbo to do it.
When someone invites you to a fireteam you have to click on accept instead of hitting a key (F1 or f2), at least I don’t see a prompt for a key. then after you click accept you are greeted with a nice affirmative “nothing to vote on” confirmation that you’re now in the fire team.
VOIP
SD hates VOIP people: in addition to making it off by default there are no volume controls and it doesn’t work properly “out of the box” 9at least not for me and any of my clan mates). Since Brink has been released I’ve been on one server where people were actually using VoIP, and half of them were saying “can you hear me? can you hear me?”. Sad but true. 
You shouldn’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to use VoIP effectively.
Binds:
I appreciate the one button use key for buffing team mates no matter what buff you are handing out, but multiple times I’ve tried to do the objective and ended up buffing someone right next to it instead.
Also, is it my imagination but is it inconsistent the way some abilities turn off after using them once (kevlar for instance) and some do not (flash bangs/molotovs)…maybe I am screwed up, but that’s what it seems like anyway. You would think it would work the opposite way, once you started handing out kevlar it should stay there until you switched back to weapon buff, and once you throw a flash bang it should automatically switch to nade during the cool down. Honestly not sure this is how it is so forgive me if I’m screwed up, I’ll have to check again next time I play.
Objectives
Not really broken but since I am bitching I hate the animations compared to the way they were done in ETQW. Also, you can see an engineers progress removing the hack box (since the hack goes backwards) but you can’t see his progress removing a bomb. Might as well show his progress removing the bomb then so we can see those epic last second failed disarms where he was one tick away from disarming when he gets killed (even though he may have lived if no one was able to see his progress). ETQW objectives are a lot funner.

but wait, is it not possible for them to completely change the ammo giving/healing!? I hate how it targets people automatically and often targets the wrong person resulting in you healing someone with 90% health instead of reviving the guy 2ft next to him.
Can’t think of any reason they changed it from Wolf/ETQW… Don’t even see it being more console friendly. RtCW was on the original Xbox and was HUGELY popular.
