Ok, I suspect that this forum is about to get locked, and regardless I certainly do not intend to post again after this one.
Smyler, I understand the economics, and if ET were a commercial release I think all mac users would accept that it might not be ported. The fact however that it would cost nothing to release the source code to a reputable man such as Brad Oliver, and yet apparently it is not going to be done is what incenses me. This refusal suggests to me that the deep-seated hatred which you clearly have for anyone who does not use the same computer platform as yourself is not by any means unique. I cannot for the life of me understand why you feel so threatened by the small mac-using minority that you feel the need to be so consistently rude.
As I have mentioned before (albeit in another thread), there are many of us mac-users who have no choice about using macs - the programs we need are available for mac only. The fact that many of us happen also to like our machines and find using a stable UNIX-based OS a satisfying experience is neither here nor there.
Fair enough, if I really wanted to play ET I could buy a pc and place it next to my mac, but frankly I don’t have the money or room, and I really don’t care about it that much. And yes, I acknowledge that if that’s the case then maybe I should just shutup and accept that incomprehensible though it may be the source code is not going to be released. So shutup I will.
Right, your turn Smyler - flame away to your heart’s content. I do hope though that the day will come when people can finally put this silly “my machine’s better than yours” crap to bed, even if it leaves you Smyler with no meaning to your life. I have a dream.
over and out. :drink:
