Focused (not like other bf games where you run 5 minutes, shoot one ppl, run 5 minutes, shoot one ppl…etc)
Vehicles not overpowered if you use smart countermeasures, of course if you get tank camped and all your mates are sniping… you’ll prolly get pined down the whole map.
Cons:
No life bar (or I didnt see it cuz I noob :D) I mean personnal life bar, not your teamate’s ones.
No big clock with time remaining (or again I didnt see it…)
CRAZY CRAZY, I mean CRAZY spread… really too much spread to enjoy the game (IMO ofc)
Mounted weapons wayyy overpowered, even sniping the servant is damn hard IMO.
The parachute deployment takes ages and its kinda boring for noodles like me as I get killed often.
One button instant granade (but well… its not sd game ;))
Vehicle driving really hard n choppy (try to get a quad running on some accidented terrain, you will puke fast)
U see the Remaining “Time” in the left corner. The Number at Attackers is getting lower and lower and when it reaches 0, u have won, or when u attack, just destroy the Objects.
A game without hitboxes rocks? Well i know u dont care about hitboxes …
And for what does this game have classes? Every class can destroy obj and/or defuse obj. Engi is needed for Anti Vehicle things, but when u play as Medic, u have so much ammo, u never need ammo. So there is no real need for “classes” .
I can confirm from my direct experience that there is NO spawn protection. Just save my fingers here’s part of the write up I did on my clans website (http://ada.clangrid.com/)
“spawns are fairly quick (less than 10 sec in the game I was playing) and since you can select to spawn with your squad you can be straight into the battle. This does have one disadvantage as there is no spawn protection, yep it’s a campers dream, as soon as the player materialises they can be killed. This can be avoided by speccing your squad before spawning and if they are knee deep in doggie doo doos change spawn to base (which is easily done). Spawn management is vital to avoid insta-deaths.”
I will admit that, in the name of research you understand, that I sat with a tank at a squads spawn point and carefully left one squad member alive so that the other members would keep respawning at his location (if the squad is all dead you spawn at last fwd base/spawn). As soon as the dude winks into existence he can be snuffed out.
But yeah looking at the vid again you most likely got him close to death in the first burst but then he moves about and you were unable to seal the deal so to speak. Frustrating but not a game fault. Its a very different style to ETQW and many good ETQW players I know are facing a steep learning curve in the beta whereas BF2 vets are pwning as they have less adjustments to make. I reckon we’ll get there, but it’ll take a little work.

yeah “classes” are really just “Loadouts” this is one of the negatives of the game for me as I agree the dynamic of needing a specific class to complete an obj increases the need for teamwork and “delivering the package (active class)” which adds to the challenge and the fun for me, but your mileage may vary.
I did a test the other day, shot 2 rounds with the saw into the wall auto fire. 2 hit. Shot 3 rounds into the wall auto fire, 2 made a mark. Dunno what this means.
this game rocks! and its game i was waiting for.
etqw was game of 2007.
its year 2010. and the king is BFBC2[/quote]
Again you are comparing 2 games that aren’t the same at all. The question isn’t “does etqw can do this or that ? because bfbc2 can do it !”.
Plus it’s completely BS because standing in middle of map without cover makes you die in a quarter of second, moreover you can do that in etqw but nobody does it, guess why ?
Now it would be nice if peoples open there eyes and stop regarding bfbc2 as a successor of etqw. IT is a battlefield game, just take any previous battlefield as a good comparison, NOT ETQW !
I agree. Quake Wars is far, far higher on the arcade spectrum which is where many of us like it.
There are a number of games that allow the vehicle pilot/driver to be killed. I consider it a gameplay negative to give vehicles two health bars. I consider it a gameplay negative to have massive weapon spread.
You’re welcome to your opinion that BFBC is game of the year and > ETQW but you have to realize that that is subjective and hugely speculative (it’s January).
hm… ok, comparing it to etqw, both games are very funny and enjoyable.
biggest pro’s for bfbc2 is player base. thousands of players are online now playing beta! and keys were limited for limited editions only! (+3000 free beta keys)
if etqw is better or not , its very subjective.
biggest advantage of bfbc2 is: (in compare with other MP games released in last few months)
dedicated servers
massive player base
objectives
great vehicles
husky and platypus:)
32slot servers
we will see in march 2010 if bfbc2 is or its not great game.
beta is still only beta.
