BF2 is now dead, we await your arrival

(GlobalWar) #21

One fact is that name changing in ET is very common. I used 4 aliases when i played ET.
In BF2 i have only 1.

But i think this proves that ET:QW has a great future

Where can i purchase some SD stock? I should have bought Activision and ID stock years agoā€¦

(Gringo) #22

My opinion is far more important than anyone elseā€™s for i am the ā€œSpecial Oneā€, at least thats what my mommy tells me

(GlobalWar) #23

Strange, my mommy AND my wife have told me the sameā€¦

(zeh) #24

Well, if GlobalWarā€™s mommy AND wife told him the same thing - that Gringoā€™s the ā€œSpecial oneā€ - then he must be right. :tapir: I stand corrected.

(Gringo) #25

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

If i could be serious for a moment. Many of ur points were very valid zeh, it just that when peep equate popularity with quality i gets angry. Not to say that this was ur point but my intellectually challenged brain percieved it that way!

(zeh) #26

Gringo: donā€™t worry, on that account I agree with you. Like I say on the FAQ for the graphs I build with GSā€™s dataā€¦

Q. Does these graphs represent the popularity of a game?

A. Absolutelly not. What they do represent is the percentage of online players on a given day for specific games. They donā€™t represent the ammount of offline or singleplayer players, the quality of a game, the maturity of a game community, or the overall fun you can have with a game.

(ParanoiD) #27

W0000000t EA did it again!!

Faking SDs goliath and rotorless copters!

(etqw.at) #28

I thought accurately the same :banghead:

EA Games - Damage Everything

(Joe999) #29

i bet they throw it on the market before qw is released. EA usually does this with their unfinished buggy unplayable low quality crap.

(kamikazee) #30

I donā€™t say itā€™s crap (Thatā€™s still to see but I wouldnā€™t be surprised) but this movie is just a waste of bandwidthā€¦
Itā€™s just saying:
ā€œWow, we got vehicles! And look at all the flashes and sounds it makes whilst shooting at nothingā€

I believe they need ton invent better stuff for tech demoā€™sā€¦

(Joe999) #31

donā€™t worry, i say it is and it will be. EA is NOT a good publisher, their quality assurance sucks as big as their marketing policy.

best example is the xbox360 launch. ALL games unfinished, reduced in features (compared to the versions on the old consoles), buggy and stuttering as hell, expensive, absolutely NO nextgen, no further support, no updates ā€¦ and all that just to get the money from the xbox360 launch advantage (+ chirstmas) ā€¦ EA will get no money anymore from me. and lol, EA blames M$ because of the fact that their games donā€™t sell on the 360 because there werenā€™t enough consoles ā€¦ muahahahahaha. now that the 360 isnā€™t hacked yet, they canā€™t blame piracy, so they seek another one to blame. they better realize that their games are buggy crap and not worth the money. honestly, i feel ripped off by EA.

well, and look at BF2. was it done at launch? definitely NOT.

unfortunately the developers of Burnout Revenge switched to EA, so i have a big problem ā€¦

(Gringo) #32

I would like to know (preferably from the SD dudes) how a games developerā€™s can sleep at night knowing that their latest produce is a piece of shit? Dont they have any self respect? Seriously, they work for a big company with loads o resources and still produce utter rubbish.

Most other jobs require a certain high standard of work yet many people who make computer games produce games that r as fun to play as running around with a turd on a stick is!

What sort of crazy world do we live in where this is allowed to happen??? :???: :???:

(Dazzamac) #33

Here is the evidence that EA are evil. Thank you ctrl-alt-del

(kamikazee) #34

I seriouslywonder the guys in the SD office lack sleep 'cause of this.

Game developping actually doesnā€™t need that high of a standard, but for commercial games itā€™s of course preferable. As long you get a playable, fun and working piece itā€™s allready something.
But some developers just seem to have forgotten what fun is, or canā€™t think what can go wrong in a game spoiling otherā€™s fun. Or must be seriously out of ideas because they just got too many resources.

Look at this article: How to Prototype a Game in Under 7 Days, it allso links through to Experimental Gameplay project

They can make fun games in 7 days. They allso noted that if a concept doesnā€™t work, itā€™s no use meaking it look better. So the basic concept is all that matters.
Maybe the EA developers are scared from picking up truly new concepts?

(ParanoiD) #35

Sure, they just copy everything from other games what was cool. They mix it up (all good things together creates crap because they use stuff from different games which wont mix up). Add nice graphics. Then make a nice marketing and pump millions in it. So youve got a crap game which is bought worldwide because ppl saw the graphics on the tvā€¦

(F-techdeath) #36

I soo wanted that post that one:p
Nice

(Dazzamac) #37

There are 2 ways to make and sell a game with a set budget. One is to use almost all of the budget creating a truly great game spend a little on advertising and create hype within the community thats already ā€˜In the knowā€™ and let word-of-mouth advertising do the work, people then buy the game based on recommendation and thoroughly enjoy it. The other is make a game, any game, spend a fortune on advertising and everyone buys it before they catch on that its shite, doesnā€™t matter how bad the game is, youā€™ve sold it and thats what counts.
EA chooses the latter of the two.

(Nail) #38

they seem to have done ok with their sports titles

(Joe999) #39

you canā€™t do something wrong by selling the same game over and over again year after year ā€¦ especially when nothing changes in the game

(Gringo) #40
