Something that gets censored on this forums it seems.

For a game that features dark elements and crass languages, the forums censorship just feels… juvenile.

unfair matches is THE MOST INFORMATIVE data they can collect : since this is the main thing they want to avoid. But obviously it will be useless with unreported smurfing.

you get a ‘lol’ for bat**** crazy logicx

So, you then condone the use of unfair advantage?

crazy bat**** is better than your culpable attitude.

Seems you now admit smurfing is an unfair advantage. We are making progress here.

All I said was that it’s fine. Hell, even custom scripts in the duck-jump bind is OK.

Here’s a thought, if they didn’t have a rank or number attached to them, would it matter? Would it actually help you win?

No, the only way to win it is to freaking do it, so stop focusing on their rank and focus on what they are doing to get results.

Yeah sure, I’ll get an impressive result of +1% winning against an unranked smurf. Thanks for those kind words and good advices, stay positive bro, nothing to see here.

I dont find using script OK. Do you know of any official competitive shooter tournaments where this is OK? Stay on topic please. And maybe try to focus when you write stuff.

Try DBNation sometime. Besides, what sort of advantage do you get anyway from binding Duck-Jump to a key? Do you cry foul when you realise someone is better than you?

Instead of being salty, and expecting SD to just fix a problem that even Valve hasn’t quite been able to fix yet, maybe in the meantime, analyze how you play and maybe consider you could do better?

I mean ffs, do you people want every game to just be absolute breeze? Cause it’s not going to happen, a good game will be challenging, and and it will often come down to neck and neck situations, or be hard fought.

And even games that were balanced, to the best of matchmaking’s ability, can still end up being one sided because someone on your team made a crucial mistake, or there’s no communication.

You guys expect SD to fix a personal issue that you have with the game. As long as SD is free to play, you will never be able to fix smurfing. And even if it costed money, some people are willing to spend it to feel like they’re good, when they’re actually not.

there is a reason why we have Leagues and Rankings in Competition. You really expect level 20 Bronze in LoL to play against Diamonds?

Silver Specialist should be the lowest that people could Queue with. I even had Cobalts throwing a game, they didn’t defend or anything, yea great Guys. Fucking up MM in every possible way, retards everywhere in Ranked.

First of all, this isn’t League, we don’t have the player population even close to that. Second, because the population is so small, that means two things, one, unbalanced matches because the system will try to match anyone queing up at that time since that’s what it has to work with. Two, since it’s hard to find matches immediately, I imagine that is why people who have been playing Ranked for some time resort to smurfing, cause it’s the only way at that point you can find a game to play.

So in other words, we are not helping the situation by complaining about problems SD realistically can not fix, and we are not helping the reputation of Ranked by saying it’s full of smurfs, cheaters, etc. It’s just whining, and unfortunately that gets more attention than anything positive people have to say.

There are things Splash Damage can do to fix Stopwatch to make it more fun and enjoyable to play Ranked. But ultimately, it comes down to what we do as the community. And the first step is playing Ranked, if your goal is to play the game seriously and not expect pubs to become the new Ranked.

Complaining about top players smurfing mean we want stomp other.

Can you be even more deep into logical fallacy please ? That’s clearly not enouth

Point is, you guys sound like you want every game to be a win, you don’t want to deal with any sort of unexpected challenge or perceived unfairness. Learn to adapt to situations like that, that’s how you clinch the win.

You come across as every bit as bad as the smurfs you hate

(Dieu-Sama) #75

Point is

I’m afraid you missed it completely

you guys sound like you want every game to be a win

I clearly sounded like I want every game to be rationally balanced

you don’t want to deal with any sort of unexpected challenge or perceived unfairness

Yes, matching against a whole team of top DB players while yours is clearly below this level of skill is only a question of perception :expressionless:

And no, I don’t want to deal with this kind of objective unfairness

Learn to adapt to situations like that, that’s how you clinch the win

And after that it’s the French the arrogant ones . . .

(GatoCommodore) #76

just played ranked with my friends few hours ago, seems like many people saw this discussion and call me a smurf in the match and ask my friends to kick me
(even tho im on my main account, which is a copper, which is not a smurf)

seriously, just play man.

sure i get hard time babysitting low level player but it seems we arrive to the point that baby sitting and hard carrying becomes inevitable in ranked.

Thing is even if the game IS rationally balanced via matchmaking, it does not mean it won’t be an absolute stomp, or seem one sided, because again, it’s easy for one player to make a crucial error that loses the game. And AGAIN, you do not seem to understand that if the matchmaking pool only has say 50 people within a certain pool to match up, based on connection, rank, etc, there is going to be a lot of discrepancy. Causing the issue of people wanting to smurf just so they can play the game, and matches seeming unbalanced when the system is doing the best it can.

Gato is right, learn to deal with it.

This is normal.

Losing because of skill discrepancy caused by top players smurfing should not.

And again, you are ignoring the fact that they may be smurfing cause it’s the only way they can find a ranked match, or because ranks reset each season, they actually just started playing ranked that season and are getting placed. Since nobody is immediately placed in the higher ranks as far as I am aware.

Yessss. So true. Spot on.

You are almost there, almost understanding the problem now. Keep on!
