Ban Smurfing Forever

(K1X455) #41

@kittz0r It’s just a reprieve of the psyche of having a superior 2 or 3 digit level from pub games and the rest of the team expecting to get carried. Happens too often like in Attacking side of Bridge. Sub level 20s and 10s having a hard time to repair the EV because of poor cohesion and bad team composition; then I join in as Fletcher/Bushwhacker, establish holding points and get to repair the EV… escort, switch to Nader to destroy generator, switch back to Bushwhacker and repair the EV again and continue to escort.

Besides, it’s just an opinion. It’s not canon.

(Szakalot) #42

so you think its okay to abuse f2p nature of the game and cause consistent imbalance to the matchmaking, just so you can stomp a bit?

maybe make new accounts everytime you hitlvl5 so you can have even less demanding competition.

i would concede that the constant carry-or-lose fate most good players face is a shame, and minlvl10 servers only partially alleviate that

(Dieu-Sama) #43

It seems (totally not sure, only 99% sure so no name shaming  ) ozzie has a new smurf already

becomehush : 11,5 hours according to his totally empty steam account (aside DB ofc), and gold spe already

BUT SMURFING IS NOT A PROBLEM/BUT WE CAN DO NOTHING AGAINST SMURFING

(K1X455) #44

Just because someone does it doesn’t mean it’s an abuse.

Besides #PlayDirty

Thing is most smurfs do it just so they can dominate against new players and appear to be better than everyone else with their higher stats.

(pumpkinmeerkat) #46

What’s the official SD ruling on smurf accounts?

pretty sure its not allowed

(blufflord) #48

Genuine question tho, if you create a new account and play with regular people you wouldve played with you high account (not trolling on max lv 6 servers), then there’s nothing wrong with that no?

In that case, then it’s an abuse. The intent to deceive is established; but until it is established as such, you cannot say it’s an abuse.

How would one establish the intent in this case? Lmao

(Dieu-Sama) #51

You can’t

That why you need a scorched earth policy with smurfing and ban it without exceptions

honestly dont know. Its not clear if the game takes into account your whole performance or X of last games. Its possible that a new smurf account will be matched against newbies for extended periods of time, whilst causing horribly imbalanced games.

Are you kidding? Smurfs in ranked is like… Hey let’s collect data, but switch samples labels all over the place.

Dont QQ here then if matchmaker is broken.

Well if SD did care about the integrity of their data from being manipulated in a manner that will skew the results, the would have been clever enough to make provisions such that it cannot be manipulated. Honestly speaking, with the number of balance exceptions being reported, I can’t even honestly claim that neither Season II nor Season III of ranked is ever fair. So what’s the point then of having data that is practically invalid to begin with?

(Szakalot) #55

‘if the victim was smart enough it would never be killed’ lolol

unfair matches is THE MOST INFORMATIVE data they can collect : since this is the main thing they want to avoid. But obviously it will be useless with unreported smurfing.

you get a ‘lol’ for bat**** crazy logicx

(Noir) #56

I don’t mind smurfing on public. But on Ranked… Guys, seriously…

(kopyright) #57

On public they could just hide levels as suggested in various other places. You can’t brag about the size of your e-peen when nobody can see it.

(Aazhyd) #58

No smurfs?? But I like the funny little blue guys!

What’s an e-peen? And should we just stop the leveling up system post 20? Just like real life, all the good and bad stuff are open to you from age 20, no one’s gonna care about your age after that.
