back door on battery

(FallenMatt) #21

maybe it works for you but:
one cov ops who knows what he is doing (spot mines/throw grenade/satchell on them) and you will be dead when you come back to replant the mines, your pants stolen and soon the back door open.

(i know, i expect too much thinking about cov ops who actually spots mines)
but engy with medic or just bunch of allies can brute force get through your mine field and get you.

it is all “safe” technique to plant mines there but only if you have bunch of axis on the inside of the bunker ready to kill the cov ops who stole your pants

Actually won pretty convincingly as Allied on this map last night.

Found being an engie with a Garand is a good tactic. Lets you help build the ramp/pop a grenade through the battery/plant the dynamite and also launch grenades down the corridors to help your team mates through to the generator. Then once the generator is blown your chances double.

It’s really funny watching everyone creep along the corridors to the open staircase area. I generally just charge in and pop a grenade off at the door from Axis spawn. I die of course, but it’s much better than being toasted by a flamer in the corridor. If only my team mates had more backbone (stupidity).

Another good one is “reversing” up the ladder (by the crates) along the corridor into the staircase area. You can then pop nades off and reverse back up the ladder out of the line of fire. Confuses the hell out of Axis.

i notice im the ONLY one who guards that door/bunker

same goes for radio map… im the only one that covers right flank…

fucking n00b team :-\

(duke'ku) #24

as allies:

/name “^5duke^7’^3ku^7 ^3(E,5)^7”
/say “^5quick! i need help outside the back door! come quick!”
/name ^5duke^7’^3ku^7

works every time

(yes, i know i’m uber-lame, ahahhaah  )

Well I must be the only one here who goes out the backdoor… and I’m certainly not a n00b. However I don’t go out there without support.

What better way of making sure “n00bs” don’t fuck it up for you then to be out there with them and kill the bastard covert ops before they get the uniform, or better yet before the engineer builds the command post?

Usually as a Medic I’ll hang a bit back on the path and let Das Monkey and Mr.Donut wreak a bit of havok on the ramp up to the backway and if either of them die I’ll support fire and go raise em and run back up. It’s extremely effective and very difficult for allies to make it up. Especially with a lvl4 FieldOps and I usually with a full raise.

I don’t know… we need action. It’s extremely boring to hang back and wait for someone to try to get by you at the gun, and if they do, you’re pretty much fucked because now they’re planting and you still have 20 seconds to spawn. At least way out on the side of the huge bunker back door if you die, they can’t make it in quick enough before you spawn so you can go back and wait at the door to rock em if they open it with a uniform.

Because all it takes is for one covert ops to survive killing your little team out there and get inside the door. He blows the generator in 2.3 seconds, and then the entire Allied team can be swarming in the back door.

But please, continue to run out there, as long as you’re not on my team. I’ll be glad to take your uniform and head inside.

The funny thing about Battery is that Allies can win it pretty easily if they know what they are doing. The multiple spawn points and the easily spotted choke points make mortaring very effective. One allied mortar can provide enough cover to let the eng build the ramp. I think we’ll be seeing a lot more mortaring as time goes on with Battery.

In the meantime though, Axis have to learn to stay inside the base. You might be the uberest of all ubers, but all it takes is one mistake to let the allies get a uniform and get inside. Why risk it? Just stay near the ramp and snipe or something and leave the backdoor alone.

(amazinglarry) #27

What’s the point in WINNING the map if it’s not any fun?

I’ll continue to go out back. 90% of the time where I’m killed (That is on the ramp where the second beach spawn is) is NOT enough time for a covert ops to take my uniform and make it to the generator before the 3 of us minimum spawn and meet him there.

But it’s no fun winning a map (especially holding off a team for 20 minutes) if we’re bored the entire time. and I invite you to take my uniform.

(Pukedukem) #28

man dont shoot temammates in the back on the beach, they may have fallen and are running to the ocean. if they die chuck a grenade onto them, also just have fun noobs add a twist to the map. sometimes annoying. Then just leave that server. easy fix

(chr0nicles) #29

Well… you need to get out the backdoor now  since the Big door next to it is dynamitable :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Finally some defence at the back! :stuck_out_tongue:

(CM..Punk) #30

Woah old thread city

(Morph) #31

i think theres nowt wrong with going out the back door if u gib urself afterwards

(Riftgarde) #32

The other night I would panzer all teammates that went out the back door, sure some filed, but I didn’t care.

(Morph) #33

i just think thats lame…after all its only a game

(Riftgarde) #34

They were the ones that got all bent out of shape, not me.

I was having fun the whole time.

(Morph) #35

well if they go out the back door its there fault and they get a bitching…but if u got atleast 2 ppl out back then they should hold it easy and if u do that ur just gonna get kicked :stuck_out_tongue:

(Mark.C) #36

ANYONE who goes out the backdoor, or onto the beach as Axis is a NOOB !

You don’t need the command post, you can do without it for one game…If Axis were to just stay at the assualt ramp (without going onto the beach) then there is no way Allies can win…Taking into account the Axis can actually aim of course.

The Axis players that go to the command post are just noob XP Whores.

I always make sure i kill and gib team-mates if they go onto the beach or through the back door, if they complain i just tell them they will lose us the game…but you never seem to get through to ppl like that !

(Morph) #37

well when i play battery on some servers it gose past so quickly because (not only the back door) when the ramp is up some engi will sneak past every one and plant atleast twice before anyone thinks about it.i always stay in the base just in case :stuck_out_tongue:

(BondyBoy007) #38

Battery can be a boring one sided affair if ETPro3 isn’t used or it’s map changes aren’t implemented properly, so I often go out back just to spice things up a bit. After all it’s only a public game and it’s supposed to be fun, so I’m not that bothered if the map is lost just aslong as it was enjoyable for all concerned.

Can be a laugh to prime a nade then on 3 clicks open the door and drop the nade, usually a waiting eng or covert runs onto it.

Or if your an eng and get out the back (knowing that an enemy covert is on his way) lay a mine or two, step on it to set it off, then stay there waiting the covert op. Dont put up much of a fight to let him take u down (still on the mine) and laugh when he stands over your body and gibs you with predictable results. . . .

But if ETPro3 is on the server and it’s map changes are configured correctly then the comm post and a decent defence out back is essential, /me waits for #DeatH**]SF[ to call me a n00b

(MadMattUK) #39

surely… if you want to come back in as an axis player, fire your gun a few times.
An allied covert loses his uniform if he fires his gun in sight of an enemy… if the person coming back in the door doesn’t lose his uniform when he pops a few rounds, then hes on your side

if he doesn’t fire a few off, kill the allied covert op!

(Mark.C) #40

Yeah bondyboy, ok if you nsist you NOOB !
