back door on battery

(FallenMatt) #1

there should be a vsay “don’t open the f*** back door” for axis on that map
or a way to block a team door for opening
or a /slap command so you can slap silly the newbie going back and forth through that door with 10 health.

it is very annoying when you not just have to defend the ridge and the bunker but you also have to babysit a largish group of people that almost always gathers at the back door and shouts like “allies outside back door, need support”

actually there should be a way to block the “build command post” automatic message because that gives axis engys sick ideas

ok, so i vented…

just lost a map with 10 seconds to the end of the round because of axis opening that door with only 10 HP. one shot and allied engy waltzes right in.

That vsay rocks, however ur still gonna get newbie ppl not knowing what or where the back door is until its 2 late :frowning:

Hey as long as I’m playing allies, let them continue to open that door.

Yesterday my friend Premium and I were playing as allies on Battery, and he kept insisting that we should just sit by the door and wait for someone to come out so we could rush in. The axis were doing a good job of not letting anyone out onto the beach, so I was having a hard time getting a uniform to get in there.

Sure enough, not once, but FIVE different times we got inside the base because someone would come to the back door and open it. We’d both rush him at the same time, and he’d be dead before the door was completely open. Then we were free to win the map. I kept thinking they would learn, but Premium kept talking me into staying, and he was right.

I guess you should never underestimate the lack of accumulated knowledge that exists in ET.

I guard the door, so they can’t open it
I permit to open the door when there are 30 seconds left :stuck_out_tongue:

Sometimes, they try to kick me (with vote) :frowning:

lol, they try to kick u for making sure u win the objective what a bunch of noob’s

The other thing is the fucking morons on Axis who run out onto the beach to spawn camp! WTF is wrong with these idiots?? I tell them over and over, going on the beach will cost us the game! They get a covert op, they steal your uniform, they open the back door for an engineer, we loose the game. It has happened many times to me, and it’s quite annoying.

i smell what you guys are cooking here. The only ‘fix’ ive found on a pub is to defend the gun control room even though its boring. Its better than trusting the noobs

(Coolhand) #8

There is a solution, and it works.

If playing Axis, you just need three or four people to head off to find the gun controls at the very beginning. You might get lost on the way (I do  ) but with a small group inside guarding the gun controls it won’t matter if the back door has been opened or not.

As long as it’s only a small Allied squad that makes it through, of course… you still need people guarding against the beach frontal assault so that the interior defenders aren’t completely overwhelmed.

That command post is a tempting prize. It should be possible for a properly organised Axis fireteam to secure that quite easily - IF they know that there’s an equally well-organised fireteam guarding the gun controls in case things should go pear-shaped.

Of course, the way things are going it looks like it won’t be long before any Axis opening the backdoor is going to be teamkilled before he gets through it… :frowning:

I always threaten to shoot them in the back if I see teammates running to the beach

(Coolhand) #10

I knew it would happen (but are you serious?).

Although I agree that going down to the beach (presumably to put towels down on the deckchairs) is unwise, healthstripping your teammates on their way just makes the problem worse. You’re just making the prized Axis uniforms even easier to come by.

(Ragnar_40k) #11

All soldiers on the beach must be (disguised) enemies and will be shot.

(GrumpyDog) #12

Oh man, the first 5min of any match is spent yelling at crackheadquakefpsfraggersscoreheadspawncamper teammates:

“NOT TO GO ON THE BEACH.THEY WILL TAKE YOUR PANTS, AND WE WILL BE SCREWED.”

– also –

“DON"T GO OUT THE BACK DOOR, THEY WILL MAKE SWEET LOVE TO YOU, TAKE YOUR PANTS AND WE WILL BE SCREWED.”

What can you do except, act like their mom running around cleaning up after their messes; closing the bulkhead doors, repairing the generator, and franitcally defusing the bombs that get in. I hate having to play rear gaurd because that usually means those same loveable inexperienced players let them build the assault ramp… and so it goes …

That’s why I like ET … non-stop action …

I need a drink …

(Iamthefallen) #13

Every now and then while playing battery as Axis I make it my job to cover the backdoor. I get my MG42, lie down in the hallway and give everyone coming in some hot lead. Usually I let my team know that anyone that goes out stays out, no reentry is allowed.

Granted most often it’s a very boring game, but it also usually wins the map.

What’s frustrating is the ever-present newbie engineer who repeatedly goes out to build the CP, only to have the Ally CovOp satchel it and steal his uniform, over and over and over and…

(|Robot|Bender) #14

Free = Noobz

Too many to count.

Thats why i just defend the back door and block any noobz from opening it…

(SmokeyTarget) #15

I’ve found that a lot of the rambo-style spawn invaders from the axis team often end up playing in each others pink smoke. A fitting fate befalls them and renders their trousers unusable to the fancy-dress folk on the Allied team.

Although having said that, I usually end up playing the “bouncy-grenades through the MG window by the backdoor” game with the seven Allied engineers round there - quite fun for a while, but 30 mins gets old quickly :disgust:

(Gabe(FIN)) #16

I usually play allies there and I just love to send messages to all players saying something like “Need back up at backdoor, allies are attacking!”. And guess what… some noob comes to check out who is trouble and opens up the backdoor… and the rest is hisrtory after that  I just love it :stuck_out_tongue:

(Mystiqq) #17

I and my friend once camped the whole game in front of the door (inside as axis) and quess what, no one opened the door and we won

cheers

(DerKammisar) #18

I played a game last night where a major portion of the Allied team just hung out at the back door waiting to get in. It was one of the funniest things ever. I’d run up to the door and knife it (ET has the same RTCW “bug” where you can see a person knifing a door from the other side “thru” the door), then listen as 2 or 3 guys try to open it. I watched as dynamite was planted against it 3 times. I even gave the Allies a hint, that you need covert ops to enter. And lo and behold when I heard the satchel charge go off against the door, all I could do was keep ROFL.

(wudan) #19

Man, I haven’t lost on this map in a long while. It’s generally a good idea to NOT go outside, but it can be done. It’s generally advantageous to have a command post constructed, anyway.

There’s a good spot for a surprise kill, anyway. You can jump on the truck that is far in that alcove, then jump on to the cart, and go prone inside. You can’t see them, and they can’t see you … unless they go on the truck …

So you hear one of them running along, you can pop up and slam a few rounds into his cranial cavity, and teach him a lesson

(Syxxpk) #20

I find that a good tactic when defending that part of the map is to go there right at the start, build the command post, then put a whole bunch of mines in the narrow path leading to it. I usually play on smaller server (around 10 to 15 people) so I just go back to the front and whenever I get a message saying someone stepped on my mine I will go back and replant them. Works pretty well for me.
