Are you satisfied with the fine tuning patch?

(Eox) #81

Glad to hear it.

(AdmiralTeddy) #82

i’m having fps drops now (i have 16 gigs of ram, gtx 980 and i7 4790k so this shouldnt happen) but this all might be because of new particles and such and hopefully will get fixed with upcoming patches.

Melee speed is kinda meh, I mean its good in certain places and bad in many others, it needs fine tuning.

My biggest pet peeve however is the new heartbeat sensor sound, it has one of those sounds that give me wince and I hate it, it’s also sort of loud which is counter intuitive if i’m listening out for footsteps… it generally bugs me really, but the rest of stuff was pretty cool.

We need more bug fixes though, that and custom crosshairs!

(Edzer) #83
 • Even though FPS configs have been removed FPS has still become more stable which is good.
 • Bugfixes always good.
 • Not a phantom player but phantom is overnerfed.
 • Weapon balancing poorly done.
 • Forced into competitive due to missions.
 • Sparks gun overnerfed, just objectives would have been enough.

So yeah, bit of both. Even though I’m more on the negative side.

What a load of tosh… Missions have always said “play X merc for X games” or “earn X xp in X category” and “play X game mode X number of times”. The new system is really no different.

You won’t be missed, and don’t let the door hit you on your way out.
But before, you got missions to complete matches with somebody in your squad, not play them. And if I have to earn support xp with Aura in my squad, I’m going to end up playing Aura, because the only other way to earn support xp would be to have Aura in my squad but be playing a different medic. And if I did that I’d have to remove the obj specialist or assault from my squad, meaning that I couldn’t help if we needed one of those. But I don’t enjoy playing Aura, so I might actually do the 2nd option.

So it’s forcing me to play a character I don’t enjoy, OR to potentially handicap my team.

(Ghosthree3) #85

People keep complaining that using someone not needed for a mission to complete an XP type is bringing their squad diversity down. But lets be honest. Who the hell uses all 3 slots more than rarely? Sometimes I use 2 mercs in the same game but most often I just play the same merc all game then maybe play something different next time.

If I have a mission that says get Support XP with Aura in your squad I’ll probably just play Sawbones for the entire next game anyway, meaning I have a 3rd slot for a merc I’m not even using.

Is this really an issue?

Gamers Gonna B**** & Moan Know Hot It Is Ghost I Use Aura And Maybe Skyhammer Thats It For Me I,m The Same Way

(ClaWikIII) #87

I personally like the new Blishlok sound and really appreciate the modified placement for Bushwacker’s turret. It is much more responsive now.

(Dirty_Op_Potato) #88

The new patch didn’t just tweak Phantom, it murdered him. Less hp is fine considering he has a shield still, longer cool down on his ability is fine too, but making a stealth merc more visible? He was easy enough to see before the patch, now his ‘Stealth’ ability is just a fancy shield.

My suggestion for Phantom tweaks would be to remove the shield, but getting hit doesn’t deplete the refractive armour. Any action should still uncloak you. Now you have assassin merc that has to flank (or use friendlies as a distraction) in order to get up behind the enemy.

Melee changes were horrible. Why you would change all melee just to adjust one merc is beyond me, there was nothing wrong with it.

(basal) #89

can’t turn off blood and other unnecessery particles… only killparticles works, but delete ALL particles…

(dlux) #90

Quite happy with most changes, except melee feels really awkward.
I never really relied on melee, but now I feel like a total noob when trying to hit someone with my knife.

(distinquishedSandwich) #91

I’m generally fine with the weapon balance parts, and how glass doesn’t crack when you shoot through it as that would further obstruct your vision. But back to weapon balance, it would be better to see some actual improvements, like say give the SMG-9 an edge as a more mid range SMG, or actually do something about the Kek-10 and remove -5 bullets so it’ll have a 40 mag like the other SMGs, but at the same time make sure the Blishlok gets the Long Range edge and give it less spread % so it’s more accurate.

And most importantly, load out balance. Some cards are straight up useless, people like benefits on their cards, not “If you die without having killed someone you get +10 more HP” or Pineapple juggler “Throw grenades back lol”. You should add more augments like “Mechanic” “Quickdraw” “Focus” to cards. And honestly why does Fletcher have “lock-on” on some cards? It does NOTHING for him, the detonation speed is the same, and if anything it’s affected by quickdraw as you are changing to a tool from your ability…

But the graphical changes are a bit out of hand. I know of people who have high tier PC’s who can’t play this game with a solid 100 frame rate, the most recent example is FiENDje who has uninstalled the game due to this problem.

If you go back in time you might remember how Brink had a huge problem with AMD GPU’s in the start.

Now, the graphics is what’s a problem here, blood gushing out of the opponent from the smallest bullet wound is not “Realistic” contrary to what Shoe believes in. - Guy has obviously been watching too many Quentin Tarantino movies. This is by no means realistic, and is very distracting if you are using a red Dot for aiming.

Muzzle-Flash is RNG as hell depending on your gun, not the biggest problem in the book, but if I had my way I’d like an option to disable blood splatter and the muzzle flash, so it wouldn’t obstruct my shooter experience.

(forlornStake) #92

Because of this new melee weapon speed I feel like I’m supposed to play a different game.

(Anaconda) #93

No.

They ruined melee, not just for Phantom but for all characters. Phantom who I enjoyed playing was also nerfed into the ground and is a joke now. For a game that’s suppose to be for fast moving gameplay, the melee nerf really ruins it. Cant even use melee to finish off downed opponents now.

Ive switched over to maining Vasilli since close quarter combat is broken now.

(sprightlyRecord) #94

i think with the new patch that kira is a little bit under powerd i have the feeling that i have no chance vs zb. a proxy with a smg in middle rang XD

(WinterShade) #95
my main gripe with phantom was that he could run up to you, tank a shitton of bullets while cloaked and then 1 hit kill you despite the fact that you had been shooting him for a good second or two
instead of addressing that they decided to ruin melee and make phantom more visible while they should have made him less tanky and more focused on stealth
i’m still glad he’s nerfed even if it is to much, now it just affects people who play him instead of everyone else who isn’t playing phantom
So basically you want it to where people are punished for playing Phantom, that’s what I’m seeing here, it’d be more of a balance where both sides are affected equally by somebody who plays phantom.

(Jupes) #96

Hell no, worst fps drops ever, my main account is having black textures i cant play.

(Sinsanatis) #97

The melee turning is something that HAS TO GO.

But the one thing that i would really love to see is a change to phantoms cloaking. I can see how you guys are making him look special with the refractive armor “pixelation” look. But i think itd be best if he was just purely invisible and have an outline of red(for the enemy) to see when hes moving.

Another thing about his cloak, is the visibility. As it stands now, there are two stages. Almost invisible shiny pixels, and glittery pixels reflecting random things. This doesn’t really help that hes a spy class. If you have a slow buildup depending on speed, that would make things much better. So what im getting at is, when u are still, u are completely invisible. As u start moving, u slowly become more visible, instead of straight up switch to “more visible.”

For example, Still=invisible, Crouch walking=slightly more visible, running=slightly more visible, Sprinting= way more visible. Im sure u get where im getting at.

Oh one last thing, please optimize the game better, or something. Because when u guys removed the ability to change the files and have an fps config, ive been getting max 35, with an average of 18-25 frames on my potato laptop. This REALLY changed my view on the game.(no pun intended) The game has changed from, “FUN!” and “EXCITING!” to " I wana play this game but i can barely want to look at the screen." Not everyone can have high end or decent PCs

Oops i meant to vote Yes and no

Playing Phantom is flanking and sneaking up on people and using your melee or, better, actually using your weapon from an advantageous position while also leaving space to get out of trouble quickly. Getting to a place unseen easier than other mercs is playing Phantom. Running headlong at somebody who can easily see you while tanking tons of their damage and then getting a kill, a kill that could not be countered in many situations, is not “playing Phantom”. That’s just being cheap which is why there was such an uproar from a lot of players.

([/P]KyeongNam) #100

I think you tackled the knife exploit the wrong way.

 1. Tho I believe Phantom doesn’t belong to such a game, I can appreciate the fact that he’s been nerfed to the point where you can’t pull a god-like kill streak as easily as before.
 2. The way the knife trick’s been tackled is wrong… I discovered after the introduction of Phantom that you had a certain amount of time to hit your opponent with your knife. But tackling the exploit by reducing tremendously the mouse sensitivity every time you try to stab your opponent … that’s just crazy… For a short amount of time you go as slowly as my grandma and all of a sudden you make a 360 (exaggerating 'f course)… The game’s driving me crazy :p… What’s even better is when you gib a player… you are forced to look to the ground until the animation ends and then you’ll be able to aim normally. I’ve been killed lots of times while gibbing a player because my slowslowslow crosshair likes to **** with me :stuck_out_tongue:
