anyone played the BF2142 demo?

(thewonderfulcar) #1

I was expecting it to be pretty meh, but good god, it’s awful.

(Desoxy) #2

Exactly: A reskinned conquest mode, far too fast overheating weapons, having to unlock even basic abilities such as reviving - these are just some of the things that make me not to like this game. It is simply no fun to play…

Gimme ETQW already, I’m done with this crap… :moo:

(Joe999) #3

i don’t even bother to try that type of gameplay again, not even if they’d release the game for free.

(sledGe) #4

same for me !

(RosOne) #5

Yes, I did. Besides that it’s bugged here and there, looses connection the EA server and disconnects me constantly, doesn’t save my controls config and overall lacks any type of real gameplay it is funny. Couple-days type of funny.

It’s the same with movies, if you expect a movie to be completely crappy it turns out not-that bad

(Brandon) #6

I just play it for the fun of how much its bad :tapir: :tapir: :tapir:

(Mavrik347) #7

I was a VIP BETA Tester… Put it this way, I wont be rushing to DL it. I may DL it when all the server loads go down just to see what else they have put in.

(jimb0) #8

does it have starforce?

(Obli) #9

Why am I almost glad it sucks? I’m such a fanboy and I love being right…!

(SCi-Fi) #10

friends have just played it and out of 10 games played they crashed out 10 times…

#11

Same here.

(Floris) #12

The game wont even start for me… A new installation doesnt work while I’m able to play games like CSS and DoD:S without too many lag problems :frowning:

Players who have the Windows security update KB917422 installed may suffer from an application error when running the Battlefield 2142 demo. This error can be solved by uninstalling the KB917422 update.

Nice, EA wants you to make your PC open to hackers by removing critical patches!

(Sir. Eden) #13

If your running windows you deserve to be open to crackers (its not hackers  )

(SCi-Fi) #14

I played it last night with friends cos i had to have a go atleast
and it looked very cheap and tacky, it just looked like a game that
has been put together very quickly cos they are scared of Quake Wars

So they should be, a game of futuristic wars it aint by a long way…

For me the colors were all wrong and I felt that is the reason why it made it
all look cheap and tacky…

I found myself bored with the feeling of not having accomplished
anything even though we had won a titan game…

(Ragnar_40k) #15

The other BF games had SafeDisc, so my guess is that it will have SafeDisc too: http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/gamedb.php?letter=B

I’d rather lick my A$$ than buy another EA game.

More of the same old nerfed kiddy sh*t.

1942 rocked, everything since then has been total shite apart from the BF2 demo, bugs aside, and even that had poor accuracy.

Roll on ETQW, bankruptcy to EA!!

(Ragnar_40k) #17

That is a very stupid statement.

(kamikazee) #18

Mods like Desert Combat were a lovely improvement on BF1942. And the intro movie was quite impressive!

(Desoxy) #19

The music of 1942 was the best in the whole franchise - all the other ones only were cheap copies… :moo:

(GlobalWar) #20

Played it too…i must say i was very surprised i actually could hit someone right in front of me. In BF2 my bullets always went the other way and killed my team mates. I only crashed 5 times during a 1.5 hour game so thats not bad for an EA game is it?

I will play it some more just to fool around with the vehicles and will prolly get bored after a day or 3.

My conclusion: EA has tried to steal from QW but they have failed :).
The alpha of QW felt WAY better (in every aspect) then this demo version of BF2142 .
