I’m too lazy to look up the exact post, but I remember a recent official SD response post… bullets will drop (follow an arc path) when firing long distance, and rockets will explode after they fly a certain distance.
By the way, what happens when you eject from an air vehicle? Will your parachute open when you bail from an Anansi or only from the back seats of the Buffalo transport copter? How bout the Strogg, do they have parachutes?
hello forum!
i can’t wait to fly on both sides, looks like even the dogfights are pretty balanced! RAMMING SPEED!!!
hello forum,
Hopefully it wont be like the crappy S to A missles which are just ridiculous now in bf2142 after this new patch totally destroying any reason to get into the gunship
I meant that if you take normal real anti-aircraft missile it will not run out of fuel on such small map (For dogfights! not for ground fight)… So that they will make it explode after some time… (as was said before)
something like the bf2142 gunships controllable missles?(rofl im so noob at controlling them)
I’m quiet shure that SD wont make such a silly mistake and turn aircraft into overpowerd vehicles. However I am afraid that they might make aircraft underpowerd. After seeing that gameplay video I just hope it wont be as easy to shoot them down as it seems to be with that guided missile.
Theres one good question here: how will vehicle resupply system work? Will vehicles have limited ammo? If they do then how will they resupply? If they have to drive back to base will they also be able to get repairs there?
If not, there’s still a herd of engineers/constructors out there. I even seem to recall that a vehicle could be repaired if an engineer was in it as a passenger.
Thats what i’m worried about, i’ve noticed alot of ppl especially where airpower is concerned arent willing to learn how to counter the planes or heli’s they just want to pull out a rocket and shoot it down without even thinking about it, unfortunately EA seem more than willing to pander to these ppl in bf2142.
I played a round on titan mode in a gunship with the new 1.25 patch, someone had a lock on me so i went to the farthest side of the map to try and lose the lock and it just stayed on me :x bloody annoyin and just plain ridiculous
Imo, aircraft tend to be very vulnerable vehicles, especially helicopters, so what people may call under-powered may in fact be more realistic.
As easy as if you put your flying vehicle in front of a soldier with a rocketlauncher. Be it a foot player or a vehicle the outcome is the same. If you don’t play wise you die.
[EDIT] I hate people who think they can play vehicle simulator god in an FPS game. I also hate how it brought a bunch of driving simulator newbie to the FPS community.
If your dumb enough to drive your vehicles in a hot zone and have everyone point their weapons at you, then your going to die instantly. simply put, you have no advantage over foot soldier beside that driving your vehicles gives you another experience, adding fun to the game.

And this engineer would be r2d2 ?

I guess you never saw the QuakeCon 06 stage demo of ETQW? Locki himself said that engineers repair vehicles from the inside - at least on the E3 build of the game. He had to change class to a medic so he could show off the APC driving around with missing wheels, instead of auto-repairing them (It’s in the future!).
I kind of hope they keep that feature in the game. I’m guessing it’s an unlocked ability to counterbalance the Strogg constructor’s flying arm or repair drone or whatever their upgrade is.
omg… A Refrigerator… now R2D2… there are a lot of jokes going around, need to record some of them
Still interesting, the best class to drive helies will be an engy then…
And What about veichle with 4 (or 6?) engies in it?
You’re overly optimistic if you think any engy will give a rat’s ass about repairing your vehicle. I predict that 80% of all vehicles will have engineers as drivers to benefit from auto repair.
