A bit of nostalgia

Here are a couple of pics, while we’re all anxiously waiting for the demo, to remind us that nothing is final and speculation is useless…

I love those old shots.

Wow, these are really weird.

The first one could be an early version of Oasis. Perhaps in that version the final allied objective was to escort the tanks past destroyed AT guns ?
The second one could be anything, but I really love that old minimap style, clean and very thematic. It’s a pity it was it has been dropped.

On the second thought, it’s most probably from the single-player portion of the game.

(madness) #4

female skins… :s

(eiM) #5

the 1st is kind of cool but 2nd is gay

(kamikazee) #6

You can clearly see the RtCW influence in the second one but I have actually never seen it before.

Anyone caring for a new W:ET mod to change it’s style?

(Shanks) #7

Why does the soldier in the second shot have two different health percentages??

(Lanz) #8

It looks like that is info reagrding the team mates, it looks like the engineer is selected so I guess it’s his stats showing down on the left side.

(=SC=Beef) #9

wow, just look at these 0.o

Some of those pictures made me come up with quotes like “Honey, who shrunk those player models?”.
Seems they were more midget-sized compared to W:ET.

(Loffy) #11

Second one must be Forest from RtCW on the way to becoming Fueldump.

(Sauron|EFG) #12

Lol, even Sock calls it RTCW:ET.

(Dazzamac) #13

That second one is from the single player. The chick was an NPC, I remember reading about it here recently.

(ParanoiD) #14

Yeah, dont forget ET would also be a singleplayer game, but the SP part was canceled as that team wasnt on scheduel. Still I would like SD to realese their work don ein maps that have been taken out of the game with the release, i would really like to see those maps once.

Also the link by loffy is cool to check out. So Oasis is made out of “2 rooms”. I t finaly explains me after 3 years why my mortar sometimes just blows in mid-air on aosis while trying to camp the axis, it was just hitting the invisible wall of the room.

(jjpron) #15

Yeah, great link by Lofty.
Who is Simon “Sock” O’Callaghan, is he still one of the SD devs?

(fattakin) #16

used to be, he lives in the US of A working for some other big company now, raven or somesuch. he was a good laugh round the forums and very helpful to mappers. Your Typical SD employee type, gamer, die hard, touch of nerdyness lolz

(XziteD) #17

Those screens remember me on old et.

(Shackahn) #18

I too would like to see the maps which never made it to ET possibly released to the community. You can see looking at the old screens how much the game changed between the shots and the release. Still I am not complaining

(Etnies) #19

Didnt someone sickin wills with a picture proving it was rtcw:et the other day? :???:

(Wils) #20

Is that on the basis that the more people are wrong about something, the less wrong it gets?
