BETA testing is Play testing itās just another term tbh, to test the game you have to PLAY IT. There are no such thing as good testers and bad testers, since all we will be doing is stressing the servers etc. The fact people pay for it should have no bearing on weather there good testers or not :?

Disagree. Iāve participated in numerous beta tests. Good beta testers find replicable bugs and do a good job of documenting them so they can be fixed. Good play testers are conversant enough with familiar games to evaluate game/map/asset balance, articulate enough to offer constructive critique and suggestions, yet open-minded enough to consider the perspective of several potential types of players.
Conversely, betas are full of people who play and never post anything (comments, suggestions, bug fixes, etc), whine incessantly that itās not like game x, and/or canāt quite get the fact that itās a beta and therefore subject to change (different degrees of change of course, depending on what beta stage itās in)

Yet what seemās to have completely have gone over you head is the fact, the friends/family/clan closed beta was for the major bug crackdown and balancing, we will mostly be stressting servers/tracking (high numbers) any more bug reports/information the devs get would just be a bonus to them.

You guys make it sound like FP is evil here. When you subscribe you get more than an ETQW beta. You are paying for bandwidth to download that beta alot faster than on their public servers. And not only ETQW, but all files on their networks. If you subscribe for only the Beta, it is not their fault you are limiting your use of purchase.

if there were such a thing as a āgoodā and ābadā beta tester, at this stage in the game i think itās best that some of the ābadā get thrown in with the āgoodā.
get an idea of how griefers / idiots / tkers / noobs will play it.
cause lord knows once it comes out and weāre playing in pubs thereās going to be more than enough of those type to go around.

We need the village idiot to play this game. So SD can fix the game thus allowing no one to be cheap. I guess there can be some cheap aspects though, like panzer and flamer in RTCW. And rambo medics in Wolf ET.

Letās just wait and see if a key is only handed out with a fileplanet subscription, or if sites like Gamershell and Gamespot will share the goodness with us all.
Some people just have more or less problems with this kind of marketing strategy. I personally donāt like beeing forced into a third party contract for playing this 1 game. Mostly because i pay for other more useful sites already.

What will end up happening is all the inexperienced noobs with no clan experience or game experience will get to Beta test, find nothing and it will be released with the bugs until the more experienced gamers get there hands on it and give proper feedback,
and before I get flamed like usual here, yes I did say noob, and no iām not saying I am one of those experienced gamers.
