yea, I agree. It’s 2 different games. Console players should have their own forum. They can discuss their own competitive scene in that forum. lol.
You know Brink is dead when......
Kid I own a PS3, 360 and Wii, but their garbage.
TF2 on pc is a different game basically.
Minecraft will suck on 360.
And MAG? LMAO, game is terrible.
i love the facts you present, they will suck it sucks i donnt even believe you have any of them.
There should be different forums for PC and Console, but at this current juncture, there are not.
And not for any “we’re better than you” reason (though I observe many an attitude of that nature in this thread alone), but because they are two different games.
I don’t have to worry about server settings and other such variables when I turn on my PS3, and PC players don’t care that the PSN is down and online gaming has come to a screeching halt.
The Mods here really should create seperate sub-forums for PC and PS3/360.
But that’s a discussion for another thread.

Wrong. There should just be a totally separate site for all the little ELITIST scrubs.
Yeah, they may all just happen to be exclusively PC gamers, but that doesn’t mean that we have to throw rational PC gamers and multiplatform gamers into that cesspool with them.
It’s funny that the little l33t kids keep asking the question, “Y U BEING HERE?”
Here on the forum for a game we play called Brink? Really?
Sorry that the game isn’t dead like you want it to be. You can go be butthurt somewhere else now.
I don’t really camp developer forums, so I haven’t the slightest clue why or when this forum’s userbase went so toxic, but I almost feel sorry for the developers.
Splash Damage isn’t known as a quality developer by any stretch of the term anywhere of any significance in the industry or FPS community (which I admit is unfair),
and being presented with a board saturated with ignorant trolls when visiting the developer’s official forums doesn’t help SD’s situation among any significant industry elements.
At least there’s always swag marketing, eh? (critic reference)

Too true. Your posts are great. Te he he. Most of us just want to talk Brink, and we get other garbage thrown at us, which is not cool. When we give it back, it gets toxic. But, I digress. I just like the game and want to talk about it. As long as peeps don’t get up in my grill about that, I am cool with’em. I think we can all co-exist.
The fact that you have so much more positive rep than these ELITIST little trolls is one of the few reasons that I haven’t ridden off this forum as being completely overrun with useless butthurt griefers and already moved on.
Even though you make a lot of out-of-line and borderline trolling comments, there’s obviously plenty of other members/lurkers who sympathize with some of the things you say… which usually involve checking this odd concentration of ELITIST losers on their BS.
Thank you good sir!
Now, PC players just need to show a little patience. SD are clearly supporting this game. But, unfortunately, the “immediate satisfaction” generation is sadly leaving this game too quickly.
We waited years for this game; we listened to their PR crap about how it was going to be amazing and how they were listening to the competitive community, they showed footage of a game that looked like it had potential at game expos, and the reviews it got at those expos were always gleaming and had just a few nitpicks about damage or something (and they said they were working on that stuff).
We didn’t get that game, but I’d love to have the version of the game all those people were playing at E3 and stuff where the game was “amazing” and game of the year material.
If what you say is true then it would be worse for consoles because there are more console pirates than PC.
That’s just it, riptide. There’s a double-standard. No debate, there IS.
That’s what you’re not getting, or are choosing to remain ignorant to, or are just pretending to be oblivious of in order to troll around.
You ignoring that console and PC are two different worlds isn’t going to change anything. The same elements, that have deteriorated the state of PC FPS gaming, don’t even scratch the console userbase.
Cry that it ain’t so, or isn’t fair, all you want… It is what it is.
There are many many reasons behind this, but I’ve already resigned myself not to waste my time going there is such a uselessly toxic environment.
You’re perfectly free to think what you want, though.
Me, I’ll just go ahead and agree to disagree with you.
You, you can just continue to be l33t or whatever it is you do. No hair off my back.
Strawman all the way. They have a point, so you exchange their argument to something superficially similar but easier to refute. Having refuted that, you sit on laurels. Not to mention lack of respect for people you’re talking to, personal attacks… really, too many to list.
Brink just failed to deliver what it advertised. It borders on false advertising, and that’s punishable by law. Maybe you are comfortable in a land where games are advertised with bull****, because they won’t stand on their own merits. I won’t tolerate that.
These forums have such an unprecedented number of foul-mouthed people who can’t reason, because most of smart people have judged Brink for what it really is. And left elsewhere. What’s left is mostly people who a) are in denial b) have too much hope c) don’t realize there’s something wrong.
The new content looks sick…I feel bad for the chickens that traded in the game. Ha ha. Shame on you!

normally i say idiotic things with a sharp edge of truth. i would give you plenty of rep if i didnt use it all day. now that i simply feed the trolls, by trolling back for that matter i get nega repped all day. but i got a buddy that has more stars tha that that pumps me up daily if i ask.
rep is kinda a bad indicator cause… rep whores?
and if you check out the old stuff i used to post it was pretty reasonable, just getting tired of all these PC users that bitch and moan all day. all they do is troll troll troll, all i want to see is people who like the game, or give some kind of organized intellectual argument. last time i checked you where one of the people that does that.
sadly i am losing that trait as no one puts anything but hatred on here, presents no factual evidence and just TRY to make me RAAAAAAAAAAAAGE! and its sad, i probably shouldn’t backfire. but when i got here I(only a month ago) it was alot nicer place but more people find out about it, or people make a second account (as so their old account wont be punched) and just TROLL.
pisses me off that’s all.
and the usaull response is, oh you just dont like my opinion. then i think no your opinion could be all right but no facts, no evidence, no proof just heated, emotional, troll BS.
First of all, security was originally wrong, because even if there are more people playing on consoles, the matchmaking makes it so that we are getting less games than PC guys are. Having a server browser should makes PC appear a lot more active.
That said, MW3 and BF3 will not change Brink’s activity on consoles. Few of those kinds of gamers got Brink. People who got Brink were people who like TF2 on PC (and maybe didn’t have a PC that could run Brink), and people who like games like KZ2.
There is a future for good, hard core oriented FPS games on consoles. I still play KZ2, and it has a very strong community, which is impressive considering that a casualized sequel was released, and the game is over 2 years old.
I think BF3/MW3 will affect Brink more than you think. It may not cripple it, or send it to an early grave, but I believe it will create a noticeable drop in playerbase.
I’m a BF/MW fan, and I love Brink, but there’s no doubt in my mind that those two games will steal time from me, from Brink.
Sad, but true: With (FPS) games on console, planned obsolescence is the name of the game.

What exactly do you guys want?
I had a pitchfork and torch out like the rest of you because I was upset with Brink in its current state. It was hard for me to believe they were working on it when there were no screen shots and no news of any progress at all.
Now I got what I wanted, I’m happy. I don’t need to complain because they’ve satisfied my concerns. I don’t know if they’ve truly fixed the game, I can’t play it, but I’m not going to assume one or way or another until I try it. Im not going to cast false accusations regarding changes I know nothing about yet.
Assuming your concern is whether or not they’re trying to improve the game, and they recently have proved they’re hard at work at it, what exactly are you complaining about? What do you expect your complaining to achieve? What will satisfy you?
Thank you, riptide. Developers and publishers have figured out how to milk consumers for all they are worth, and consumers encourage it by mass preordering new titles off hype and paying $15 for black ops mappacks. It doesn’t matter whether it’s console or PC.
That being said, fps games are simply better on the PC, on a number of levels. The physical interface and hardware are plain superior. But the same elements (corporate greed and consumer apathy) that are hurting the PC fps scene are those that hurt your xbox games, too, people. You can choose to ignore reality but that just makes you…less human.

aah, facts , evidence, and a good solid brain backing your main ideas! you just made one of the smartest posts i seen in the past couple of days. congrats sir
(no sarcasm intended we need more people like you)
but regardless if we are getting more games we have a higher daily peak and some pretty full fun games.
my opinion, if a majority of people that play the game get on this sight or hear about DLC and all the patches the game will grow anyway.

All of what you said may or may not be true and it really makes no difference when the entire console itself will be dead. The xbox720 and/or the ps4 will be out sooner than later, we can count on that. Then there is absolutely no chance Brink will be a popular title at that point.
In the mean time, on the PC side… Brink could have been a thriving competitive game on its 4th or 5th season of league play. If Brink wasn’t fail it might be played at Quakecon in official tournaments for a few years and at other LANs all over. Brink HAD the potential to be the next W:ET plus some for the PC world. All while Brink for the console is being sold at pawn shops and yard sales while everyone is playing COD12 on their 720/ps4s.
But Im sure SD knows this and they also know they will still rake in 10x the cash from their fly by night console game than they would if they made a real PC game with longevity.
