Will missions ever award xp?
Yo, I got a question
Umh… as in the credit missions that already, most of them, require certain amount of X type of xp to be gathered?
I highly doubt we’ll see gathering xp yeld a xp reward upon completion.
Incentive to actually do the quests, I mean, what’s the point of doing 'em once you own all the mercs and you got all the loadouts you want/were looking for, etc.
Xp wont be a sensible incentive at all after one has got all the credit- related stuff grinded, least how I feel like being +lvl80 and having all the mercs.
I do the missions because there always that “one loadout” you’d maybe want in higher rarity, thus you need credtis for it. Also event thingies are often easier to grind with a good credit foundation before actual event.
And most importantly, I’d still play the heck out of the title missions or not as gameplay is exactly what I’ve been waiting for ever since I got tired of TF2. (Not saying they’re the same in slightest).

Well yeah, but I guess that I just reached the point where I just don’t really need creds for anything anymore, and ever since I saw that a level up now gives you Arsenal crates I got triggered like a Social Justice Warrior into wanting to gamble with them.
Well, in the end of the day Arse crates grants you either more loadouts or credits. Both which you pointed you feel not that much use for? But they’re a nice lvlup reward at least
Naah, getting XP for collecting XP sounds silly and is a bit silly, not gonna see such I’d guess. The entire “overall xp” system is ridiculous in my honest opinion but thats for another rant ^^’
I actually kind of like it, to an extent. The other day I had a server full of potatoes giving me crap for being “level 68 wow no life and no friends hahaha” … Long story short, the leader of said potato group actually had 100 more hours than me on Dirty Bomb, and was only level 28, but due to being a potato he finds it hard to get xp when going 5/32 with Fragger.
Not that this is helpful to anyone in any way, but it certainly made me feel better haha.
Personally I hope not because I don’t want to level up. I’d still be level 10 of I could. Less expectations…as though we don’t have enough of that IRL. Getting better and carrying more nowadays though. People don’t understand that level doesn’t equal skill. Even I catch myself hunting down high levels for satisfaction
With the arsenal crates leveling up is a bittersweet thing for me.
XP is there to measure your experience anyways and absolutely nothing more. There’s no point in leveling up quicker if you’re still awful because you don’t even know to finish a downed Phoenix or some such.
i hope it will stay that way, lvl says for how long you played the game, arsenal crates are a nice bonus, reward for playing, i also cant believe that you got all the cards in rarity and skin you wanted for every merc
just collect credits, maybe next even will be similar to rev, and imagine having 300k credits
when it starts
If you have all the loadouts you want in cobalt, get a good loadout for all mercs in cobalt.
If you have good loadouts for all mercs in cobalt, get the ones you have in fragment again in shard
If you have all the best loadouts in shard, get the other 8 loadouts for each merc in shard
I doubt you have that.
Also we will see new mercs and new stuff in the future, so saving credits can be a good idea too because then you can buy all the stuff instantly as they come out and be a cool kid
anyway why would you want more exp? itll just level you up quicker as push you into the min 10 and min 20 servers quicker and get you placed against “better” players
Wut… You need XP to do missions in the first place. Why have missions award XP? This makes no sense. Awarding XP will make you play against more experienced players faster, especially this late into Open Beta.
Uh… I’m level 45, I don’t really care about that.[/quote]
That’s a selfish way of thinking seeing as new players are coming in (and will be coming in faster during the full release). Having your idea in place would not only infuriate them, it would infuriate the higher level players because of how inexperienced they are. Shoe and Raz talked about this numerous times during livestreams.
TL;DR Level =/= Experience | Credit Missions = $$$
XP Missions = Faster XP
Faster XP = Less time to level up
Less time to level up = Less game experience w/ higher level
Less game experience w/ higher level = Playing and losing against players with the same level or higher with more game experience
Playing and losing against players with the same level or higher with more game experience = INFINITE RAGE
INFINITE RAGE = Less people playing the game
Credit missions don’t upset the level:experience ratio and gives incentive to purchase loadout cards with them, getting upset with RNG, and caving in and buying that tasty looking 10-pack of elite cases you know you’ll only get silvers from.
It’s something we have not considered.
We want XP to show off how long you’ve been playing the game, and actual experience with the game.
It would mess with XP incentive rewards, such as unlocking ranked matchmaking faster. I understand it’s something you may want for Arsenal Crates in particular, but again it messes with other incentives a little too much.
@RazielWarmonic
Maybe, then, lower the overall experience required per level? Maybe… 350k or 300k? Every bit helps, and getting a level can feel like it takes a long time. Even playing all day it still takes about 2 days of grinding to get a level.
And, since we’re talking about arsenal cases. The 1hr booster is literally the most disappointing thing to ever hit this game. Playing for 20~+ hours and focusing on farming exp and getting that as your reward is absolutely heart breaking. Even a single equipment case is arguably better, but nor do I think that should be an arsenal crate reward either.

That also messes with incentivized rewards such as hitting level 7 for ranked matchmaking, not to mention all those players who are over level 50. That would be very upsetting for them!
Arsenal Crates are just an extra reward. You can get that 1hr Credit Booster… but you may also get Elite Cases! They can’t be amazing every time.
