Hi
I’ve created a custom map campaign (mml_church, password2, et_assault, xdam) - it’s simple stuff - seperate maps (pk3’s) for each map, a campaign pk3 (evilsock.pk3) with a /scripts/evilsock.campaign file - it’s in my <ET path>/etmain directory - everthing is fine, the server runs and the maps are selected in order - I have map rotation setup in the main server.cfg files using vstr’s to cycle. I’m also using ETPro.
The problem os that when maps change, players lose any XP map-to-map. I thought I could get round this using ETPro (my host won’t support shrub) and setting default values for XP (I kind of like the idea of capped XP on public servers) - this worked fine for the first map but when the second was loaded XP was lost. I checked the ETPro docs a litle more closely and found that you can associate a mapdefault.cfg file which let’s you set individual cvars on a map-per-map basis (helps with fps issues I believe) - now it doesn’t say anywhere explicitly that you can use this map-to-map config to set XP levels but it seems like the place to be trying it - well it doesn’t appear to work or I’m missing something (do you have to explicitly set the base dir for this to work, as in it’s no use just placing the mapdefault.cfg file in your <ET path>/ETPro dir?
Is there any way to preseve XP map-2-map when the maps are stored in seperate pk3 files during a campaign cycle? Am I missing something quite obvious?
It would be good to get this working because some of the objectives in a map like say et_assault kind of expect an engineer to be on level2 or else things are quite hard for the Allies.
Please help!!
