XP overriding individual stats

Hey all, just thought i’d post this as it came up in conversation on a server earlier…

It was on the SNL no XP reset server. Although this does happen on nearly all other servers.

When someone has a great deal of XP (considering that they have the highest xp in the server) they automatically become the best at every class even if another player has played as, for example, field ops longer and clearly would have more field ops xp than the player who has the most xp total.

Anyone experienced this? Anyone know what is going on? why it’s doing this? r maybe you know how to solve it

Yes, I see this all the time on the giant 50+ person, xp save servers

Personally, XP should accrue over the course of a single map and then reset

I’ve seen this a lot on XP save servers. The awards are given to the player with the most XP in a certain class. If someone has played Medic and ranked up 500 XP, then they’ll keep winning that award until they leave the server, or someone earns more than 500. Even if they stop playing Medic. This never happens on normal servers because you can never accrue enough XP to afford a change without someone catching you.

No, it’s enough to have highest total XP. It’s possible that you need to have 1 XP in each class, but you do not have to actually earn the awards (on shrub/xp save servers)…

I rarley play campaign, I try and stick with stopwatch so this never really happens with me. But this seems pretty unfair to automatically hand out 90% of teh awards on teh server to somone mearly because they have the highest XP.

How is the Roll of Honour at the end of the round calculated anyway? Well, for the best <class> anyway.
Is it the player with the most xp points for that class?

I think it would be good if there was another column added which showed the particular stats for only the previous map, this would reflect the play during the map a lot better. Also, it then wouldn’t be overwhelmed by the highest xp points player and you’d have a variety of different names down there.

yes it is.

Sorry, that was a bit of a dull question, I was going to say…or the player with the most xp for that class in the previous map… but that would have cocked up my post… Lol, sorry.
(Equally as dull, ahh well)

well i guess so, because if xp save is turned on you carry over xp for your individual classes over maps, and I think that the game doesnt use a seperate counter for each map. Could be wrong tho

I tried playing on a Shrub XP save the other day  , and this is how it worked:
I was medic most of the time, except for maybe one map as fieldop, one as engie, and maybe one half round as covop. After every map the same guy (who had the highest total XP) got all the awards for best XXX, but when my total XP rose above his I all of a sudden got all the awards. There is no way I could have had higher XP in the individual classes than the guys standing in spawn dishing out ammo or the ones running around stealing uniforms, so this is obviously a shrub bug (surprise surprise).

That is not how it works on ETPro servers, but I’m not sure if only the current round is counted or if all previous rounds in the campaign also counts. Everyone knows that the awards don’t mean anything anyway, so I suggest you ignore them.
