I’ve had access to a decent BB connection (not mine) for a few days now and I’ve played alot more of ET ‘how it was meant to be played’ and such so I now (finally) have a few questions;
#1:_
I have my config setup to use the ‘inbetween your keyboard and num_pad cursor keys’ as my default for moving, I don’t ‘turn left or right’ I move left or right. For no other reason than I’d taken this config from earlier id games, I found myself just adding ‘sprint’ to the ‘real’ keypad ‘1’ or end key - it’s not ideal because I find that I only really use sprint in fire-fights when I’m moving to the left which kind of makes me a faster moving target, but a moving target all the same. I’ve noticed that most ppl who are any good in 1 v 1’s seem to use ‘strafe spint’ to get the desired ‘side_to_side’ movement going that makes 'em fecking hard to hit- how do you guys have your keys setup?
#2:_
XP, it’s a daft idea to enter a campaign halfway through right? If you enter a game when the opposition have got 300XP plus each, they will have ‘uber medics’ etc that make it fecking hard to take on in 1 v 1 's. I ended up on a server today where I got something daft like 800XP+ iin total as a medic (XP save server if you’re wondering) - 4 star everything - man, I was teh uber - something like 150HP’s so v. hard to take down, even with ET-Pro hit sounds enabled (I now finally understand the ting, ting, ting thing btw :)) - it’s that more than anything else that causes maps to seem ‘unbalanced’ as far as I can see. Play against a well organised AXIS side with decent XP and have an Allied team made up of high XP and jonny-come-lately low XP’ers and your in for a rough ride - no wonder there are so many times when you get spawn camped out of the game tbh.
Finally, I played on the one of the Mustard servers today and Doddsy was on - have to stand by what I originally said - good server, good admin - got pwned until I ‘warmed my hands’ a little
Just my 0.02, but I’m interested to hear your answers on the q’s
:rolleyes:)
