[b]Our latest map X-posed for ET has now been released after some thurough testing on our server. If you are looking for some tank fun in a bombed city then this is the map for you.
The map is great fun to play with many optional routes that will keep your nerves trembling.

Allied Objectives
Primary Objective:**Steal the tank!
Primary Objective:**Escape from the bombed town!
Secondary Objective:**Destroy the 1:st tank barrier.
Secondary Objective:**Destroy the 2:nd tank barrier.
Secondary Objective:**Construct a command post!
Secondary Objective:**Destroy the Axis command post!

Axis Objectives:
Primary Objective:**Prevent the Allied forces from stealing the tank.
Primary Objective:**Stop the Allied forces from escaping from the town!
Secondary Objective:**Construct the 1:st tank barrier.
Secondary Objective:**Construct the 2:nd tank barrier.
Secondary Objective:**Destroy the Allied Command post!
Secondary Objective:**Construct a command post!

Ok, so a small bug sneaked into the script that affects gameplay on X-posed.
If Axis construct the first tank barrier, the tank stops at the second barrier even if it is not constructed.
I have fixed the problem and I am wondering if any of you have any good suggestions on how to release a fix.

The fix is only in the script so if you are using ETPRO for example you can just put the new srcipt file in the etpromapscripts directory.

Shall I release the map again as a full .pk3 or is it possible to release a fix .pk3 with just the script?

Any feedback on what is best?

Just pack up the script alone in the correct folder.
The only trick is to make sure the new scriptfix pk3 name appears after the original map pk3 file alphabetically.
Easiest way is probably if your original file is MAPNAME.pk3 then make this one something like MAPNAME_SP1.pk3.
That’s what I did for Helmsdeep and it works fine - the Q3 engine was always designed to allow patches like this :slight_smile:

played it today…great map… total mayhem just the way me likes it. :slight_smile:

Only one small bug which was spawns would not switch automatically (i was on axis by the way) and the flags on the command map would many times just disappear so I couldn’t switch it manually either. I think it was just me though cause I didn’t see anyone else being left behind.
Other than that it’s an excellent map.

Hmm, I have never seen an issue where spawns doesn’t change automatically on it BUT in seldom cases I have seen Axis and Allies spawn in the chruch at the same time, this usually only happen once and is a result of using the same spawn times for Allies and Axis.
The spawn changes automatically to the church for Axis when the tank has passed the first corner after the first tank barrier, then when the tank passes the upper corner of the church Allies will spawn there and Axis spawn is then moved to the “bank” near the market place.

The spawnflags disappear of the spawns that are no longer in use, this is on purpose to “follow” the action on the map preventing people to get lost or selecting a spawn that is at the other end of the map.

I am glad that you like the map, personally I like it a lot and it is always intense gameplay on it :slight_smile:

Installed on fragland.org:27777 and 27776 (six). Very very intense gameplay. All our clanmembers are loving it! Big congrats for such a nice map!

LOL - I have gotten very good at releasing script fixes this way - works like a charm. You can also do this to slightly modify play in various ways.

yeah cause at the bridge allies can have a hard time. this is definitely not a map for noobs. they got smoked so hard on our server they left :). gameplay is fast and as you state in your readme “the attack can come from anywhere” :-).

two more things:

  1. Can you please rotate your team_CTF_red/bluespawns so they face an exit at all spawn locations. It’s kinda annoying to face a wall when you spawn.

  2. The tank would sometimes get bugged where it was damaged but you couldn’t repair it. I doubt you can do anything about that cause even the officials get that bug sometimes, but i thought I’d let you know just in case.

Oh and forget about the spawn switching thing i reported earlier…played it a bunch of times today and it never happened again. Weird… :???:

I like X-Posed, it’s a good map, a good destroyed city :smiley:

But it’s very hard to get the tank past tank bar 1, not?
I was playing X-Posed 8vs8 and after 20 minutes the tank had passed tank bar1.
Probably my team and I were playing bad :bored:

After all it’s a great map :banana: :banana: :banana:

I agree with you Mapper X, it is hard but I don’t think it is harder than stealing the tank on Goldrush. Using the upper floor in that destroyed building as Allies gives you some advantage as well :wink: You can also plant the TNT between the 2 houses at the first tank barrier.
