WWII mod

(zig-zag) #1

So who will be the first to create a WWII mod? ET with next generation graphics. Would they get into trouble for being too similar to W:ET?

(criminal) #2

I doubt there would be any trouble but the question would be why. Personally I think the FPS genre is flooded with WWII games. I mean wow there is only so much originality out there and well that is one war that’s been beat to death (as far as gaming is concerned)

(iwound) #3

Because theres no ww2 with megatexture etc …
I am sure there will be a big demand for this.

(Ifurita) #4

Aren’t 4 releases of COD enough?

(nUllSkillZ) #5

Could be “What if …”.
With some futuristic, semi realistic equipment.
Strategy title “War Front” for example has walkers for the germans.

(CyburK) #6

for sure someone will come up with a ww2 mod as well as a terror vs. police mod.
personally i only play ET for ww2. i like the style of ET cause its the perfect mixture between fun and serious gaming. the other ww2 games are all too serious.
a “wolfenstein” mod could be fun. with the voices and weapons from ET. and whats maybe even more wanted is a infantry mod with no vehicles. many people (like me) just dont like them.

greetings

(CyburK) #7

i know i said i dont like vehicles BUT !!! can someone plz make a spaceship mod for ET QW ??? where people only fight in spaceships and turrets ??? imagine a big space destroyer where one team must defend and the other attack. the defenders have turrets and interception fighters and the attackers have fighters and dropships where they must infiltrate the strogg stardestroyer and blow it up or something like that !!!
or splash damage guys PLZ DO A MAP LIKE THAT PLZ PLZ PLZ !!!

Each team should also have his own planet with complete infrastructure& population.
And you should be able to manualy build your own spaceship ingame after the SD implements the lastes physics models.

I think you’ll find that there are quite a few ‘man vs alien race’ FPS games out there also. Check out the list of all games made on the Doom 3 engine:

Doom 3 (Ok, demons here but it’s in a sci-fi setting).
Quake 4
Prey
ETQW

Was aliens of sort in the oscar like movie

Ok now do a google search on WWII video games and see how many titles pop up. Not only FPS genre but RTS too.

To quote styx for you stone, “I’ve got too much ( clap clap) time on my hands”

:stuck_out_tongue:

(Dazzamac) #14

You forgot the 1994 and 1998 releases of it, then Iron Blitz in 1999

(phray) #15

that is all

(leifhv) #16

Sure, but in that case you can say the same about the ‘man vs alien’ genre. I don’t have the time to make a list but perhaps you could do that and present it to the rest of us.

Oh, and you forgot ‘Castle Wolfenstein’.

(signofzeta) #17

You know what we need, some modern first person shooters, and a genre of first person shooters that I still play and they are made in 1994, 1995, and 1997. I know what they are, now you have to guess what they are.

This first person shooter isn’t a WW2, modern, nor futuristic, which means only one other thing. You have to guess what is is.

(Imagine ET had a stone age mod, and no, the 3 games I was refering to wasn’t set in the stone age.

Soldier has a club
Engineers are the ones who know who to light fire
Covert ops has spears make of sticks and stones.

Man that would be awesome.

It would be one tribe of homo erectus vs another tribe of homo erectus.)

everything inside the brackets was sarcasm because there is no way to make a good gameplay first person shooter based off the stone age, without some unreal elements.

(shadrach) #18

How about the Rat Pack vs various Communist leaders from the 50s-60s. Have a Vegas campaign, Moscow, Havana etc and give em all Cadillacs, planes, copters and ET weapons…Sammy Davis Jr. panzering Khrushchev at the Sands…could happen

(signofzeta) #19

Here are the possible list of ET mods, that don’t exist, of types of first person shooters I think aren’t getting enough attention.

FPS time periods other than in 1900 - future that deal with war.
Mafia
Gangsters
Ghetto
Stone age
Heretic and Hexen
Roman empire

(Flesh) #20

 I had to quote it
