Hello guyz !
Well, you didnt really chose the variables to reach the best pings. In fact, its the variable “Snaps 20”…if you set it to 40, your ping gets slower for about 30ms, thats different from connection to connection.
As an old RTCW-Veteran, i would propose to set the default connection settings to the following variables :
rate 10000
cl_maxpackets 35
snaps 40
g_antilag 0
cl_timenudge 0
Because lots of people werent content about the netcode, that prolly could be a suggestion to improve the lag a lil bit !
all in all, incredible work guyz 
that game will be cult !
