Would you be willing to Pay for Dirty Bomb? If so, how much?

(Xyfurion) #1

Just a curious question. If SD were to drop their Free to Play model during full release - out of beta - (and obviously tweak it to match a Pay to play business model), how many of you would buy Dirty Bomb, and what price would you be willing to pay?

By “tweak it to match a Pay to play business model” I mean reduce RNG and decrease the amount of microtransactions.

$20 would be a very reasonable price and I wouldn’t mind paying for it.

im not rich

(Eox) #4

I honestly wouldn’t with the actual content. Also the game being F2P is one of the reasons why I am playing it.

(Xyfurion) #5

Yea but say, when they release the game and it’s finally out of beta, would you be willing to pay for it? @Eox

(Szakalot) #6

if they suddenly request $$ from their f2p playerbase, the game will die overnight

(Dawnlazy) #7

Too far gone down the F2P road by now.

(tominatorx) #8

That’s true. It would be weird if they suddenly asked money for it. If they asked at the start of the beta for money, I wouldn’t have paid more than $10 personally. If they released the game like the state it is in now (without ever doing a beta) I would pay about $15-$20 for it. (provided that they would cut out most of the RNG stuff and if they made the crafting system a bit more reasonable).

No.
Dear fcking god, no!
I don’t have a f
cking dime in my pocket, so please no!

Unless we (the ones that got into open beta) get a permanent free access, and when SD (somehow) squash all of the major bugs, then I might approve the $5-10 price. No more, but less is OK (and free is awesome).

And you don’t know how much $10 is in Vietnam. About 220.000 VND (a lot). So I don’t want this game to be P2P.

ANOTHER EDIT: @Xyfurion , I have you know that when we have Half-Life 3, Dirty Bomb will be no longer beta.

(frostyvampire) #10

As it is now (slow updates, a lot of bugs, lack of maps, no balance and etc.), I don’t think it’s worth paying for (even though I personally would buy it because of how much I love this game). But when it’s out of beta and we start getting constant updates, I think 15-20$ seems fair

Forgot to add: I remember Razel once said that Dirty Bomb will forever be free even after the beta. So no matter what people say here it will stay free.
And yes, I know you probably made this post just for fun

(B_Montiel) #11

I’d have spent 20 bucks a quite long time ago, if it allowed them to totally forget all the crafting, crates and f2p model related stuff and concentrate on the core of the game during the very first years/months of the game.

No matter how they put it, I consider they’ve lost far too much time on developing f2p income sources without thinking about their core fanbase.

But we’re way too far in the f2p side to flip the coin now.

Only to support devs and server butonly once.

On side note i know they said always free but. Wouldnt a survey like this give the higher ups the wrong idea and use this against us to start charging

I know. Then againit hasnt stoped other companies from doing something stupid based on a super small group or bougus study

(NikolaiLev) #16

Depends. Do I get all the current and future mercs and all the bronze loadout cards for them? $10-15 is reasonable for that. All the loadout cards period? $20, sure.

Paying just to have the “privilege” of grinding? Hahaha no.

(hawkeyeguy99) #17

I feel like DB would be just another on a long list of cap early access titles that people buy, and then stop playing because the devs gave up. If you would have asked me 3 months ago to pay for it I totally would have. Not anymore though, I’m bored of it now,

(Press E) #18

With how much I love this game, I’d probably still pay 60$ for it.

But it’s still not very reasonable for the amount of content and development, as others have said.
If this game costed money when I found it, I’m not sure I would have ever bought it. It being free is the only reason we have a community

(rigorousIncrease) #19

i would definitely pay for this game, but not in its current state… if the crafting was fixed, all the bugs ironed out and theres at least double the maps… and turtle…

(BlackboltLW) #20

Because 15$ is worth 3 days of foods

But then I prefer it to stay F2P
