Would you be willing to Pay for Dirty Bomb? If so, how much?

(magicalRhapsody) #21

No, Dirty bomb doesn’t have a good playerbase, more then half of the people playing dirty bomb wouldn’t even buy it simply cause theres no “Content” being added, Come on who wants to pay for a game that doesn’t get quality updates & would decrease the already small playerbase.
Only to support devs and server butonly once.

On side note i know they said always free but. Wouldnt a survey like this give the higher ups the wrong idea and use this against us to start charging
No, they’re honest and trustworthy

Content really isn’t that bad compared to others. Surely Ubisoft’s The Division has more content per $$ but gameplay experience makes up for it (except for uber/glorious 1.16fps).

That being said, $20 is reasonable to get a 4set cobalt, 6set gold, and event skins. Hell, I’ll pay $50 for past event skins and $2 for new skins/merc.

I don’t mind paying but P L E A S E fix the

F

king DPC stacking.

Having played the game for 1000 hours (and enjoying to play it almost every day), I would have given SD some founders money if I was aware of the project back then (Don’t know how much).

Today, I would be glad to give them money but they’re nothing in game worth to buy.

To answer, It would not be fair to make it P2P after such long time as F2P. So I would give money to support the game. Turning it into P2P would just kill it now.

(Wolf_Darkrose) #25

you know i put my money amount in and i really dont care. its a damn game. they made it free ill shove money in when i want something else. as for all you that are going balls deep i hate and dont like the game anymore. please exit stage right and get off the forums. your crap only brings us who play and love the game down.

(pumpkinmeerkat) #26

Best way to improve the anti-cheat.

Access to all mercenaries would allow for one-merc limit in public severs with casual matchmaking that would be available to the entire playerbase.

(ImSploosh) #27

$200

Obviously it won’t happen because that would kill the game, but I’d gladly fork my money over. This is the best F2P shooter out right now, and the best populated shooter in general in my opinion. Despite the issues, the decisions I don’t like, and sometimes the lack of communication, this is still my favorite game.

(SnakekillerX) #28

I’d easily pay more than $25 for this game, I’ve paid a heck of a lot more for games I didn’t even end up liking, or games I haven’t even gotten around to playing. (hell, half of my steam library is full of games I haven’t even played yet).

I feel like every time you post you have to mention your 1.16 FPS bug, which doesn’t actually reflect anyone else’s experience as far as I can tell. You are having game troubles that weren’t there in the past, we get it.

(K1X455) #29

It’s called advertising.

Since last year, SD hasn’t contacted me regarding it. I’ll ring every

F

U

C

king bell to get some support from these guys. They even shut down their site and I can’t dig deep enough in their changelog what caused the F U C K I N G issue in the first place.

(Dr_Plantboss) #30

I would only buy it if the merc costs were reduced and elite/expert cases could be bought with credits. and if CMM… and

Yeah maybe I shoulda said no…

(doxjq) #31

I’ve spent like $250 odd on the game buying mercs and cases etc when I was new and naive. Depending on the new model I wouldn’t be willing to pay for it, if it meant that I would essentially be paying for something I’ve already paid for.

I feel like I’ve spent enough on the game, and considering the lack of support or development I’m not willing to spend another cent on the game yet.

Personally I think the game would have been better off being more like Overwatch, in the sense you just buy the game and have all the mercs unlocked, but eh. It’s too late now imo.

Just so everyone knows, Dirty Bomb will be free-to-play forever, with no more account resets.

Interesting poll, none-the-less!

(Xenithos) #33

I’m actually in the 15-20$ range, but I would never have paid for it if I hadn’t been able to play it once. So… technically no?

I’ve spent well over a hundred on it already, will probably keep spending. I love and support this game, just wish it would grow faster. However, simply being theoretical, I probably never would have known this game if it was behind a paywall. I don’t mess with games behind paywalls… Which is weird… but whatever.

(DarkMatterMatt) #34

I’d pay $25 for a clean, polished game. IMO one of the biggest problems with DB is the tiny (comparatively) player base. It is the basis of unbalanced matches which really aren’t fun for either team.

(AlphaUT) #35

Not gonna happen before I can see true improvements.

but-but-but i wanna reduce my level miss @RazielWarmonic

I’ve spent a ton myself much like Dox here (though more as a concious choice to support development). All things considered, if they started putting out content & fixes at a more frequent and steady pace at the time of release, I’d have no qualms paying for the game. All that aside though we’re still a far ways off from being in such a state with how slow the development cycle is due to various factors.

Howver, until that situation changes, any such statements are ultimately mere conjecture due to the current state of the game and its development. With that considered our thoughts on such matters are, by consequence, subject to change further down the line.

(bushyg) #38

Spent too much already, but it’d be a great deterrent for cheaters.
There’s been some good money making ideas, like skins similar to lol and dota etc, but I guess you can’t expect much given the current pace of new content.

It still baffles me that they settled on loadout cards over the old customization. They could have made a heap more cash selling gun skins similar to csgo.

they haven’t settled on anything, all things are subject to change in a Beta

I would happily buy Dirty Bomb full price for all the characters, like I’ve done already (although missing the mark for the Starter Pack), mainly to support development. The picking and choosing process of waiting for mercs is quite tedious. I can’t exactly say it unbalances matches, but for obvious reasons the rotation characters get insufferable. Especially with a character like Rhino or Thunder is on.

Also, and while this sounds like a horrible thing to say; it places the game at a higher development standard. Not to say Splash Damage has been jerking us for the ride the whole time, development made in the Summer Squash made great ground as well as the recently revitalized development videos with Shoe! But perma-beta games like Dirty Bomb is starting to feel, really get by on the factor that they’re F2P and that you can get through the whole game without putting a penny down.
