workaround for l4 soldier bank wackyness

if you want to have a button always get you your SMG or always your PF without having to maybe press it a couple times, here’s what you can do:

set cg_weaponCycleDelay “0”
bind 2 “weaponbank 1 ; weapnext”
bind 3 “weaponbank 4 ; weapprev”

The first one selects your knife, and then the ‘next’ weapon, which is the SMG if you are a level 4 soldier. The second one selects grenade, and the the ‘previous’ weapon, which is the PF. If you are out of SMG ammo, 2 will leave you on the PF, and if you are out of PF ammo, 3 will leave you on the SMG.

cg_weaponCycleDelay “0” means that you don’t have to wait for the knife/or grenade animation before getting the weapon you want. This does not reduce the time it acutally takes to change weapons.

Thx for the good bind. I play without drawgun & whenever I get lvl4 heavy weapons I tend to feck up a lot because of the delay when switchin from smg to panzer & the fact I can’t see what weapon is out without looking in the corner of the screen. Heres a dancin banana for your good work :banana:

ApocalypseCow|EFG on pw pointed out that you can use weaponbank 10 for the SMG. You may find that better than what I posted above. You still need to use the “weaponbank 4 ; weapprev” to get the PF every time.

edit:
hmmm, looks like weaponbank 10 takes you to the PF if the SMG is out of ammo.
