Wolfenstein ET Problems

Can someone please tell me where I can download all the crap that every single Enemy Territory server tries to download onto my computer so that when I try and connect to a server it actually connects?

What do I need other than version 2.60 to actually play ET Wolfenstein, or can someone please give me some IP addresses that they play on that work?

I’ve also had some problems with Punkbuster on ET. On the rare occasion that I can actually connect to a server, after a while of playing, I am faced with an error message that says something about Punkbuster needing to update.

This is a problem that I was faced with many times on Quake 3: Arena, and it really pissed me off and eventually caused me to stop playing the game after lacking the ability to find a solution.

this sounds very familiar… if you have been playing for a while now… and
this problem has started recently, then i would guess you have way to many
pk3 files in your etmain. when you connect to a server, and it tries to send
you a pk3, then it stops… try’s again… ect…

check your etmain folder, what i did on mine, was delete all the tiny pk3’s,
the ones with mapcycles… ect… then try again.

i stopped playing et for a few months, before 2.60b came out, and when
i started to play again, thats what i experienced… and i was pulling my hair
out trying to find out what to download to make it all work again… when in
fact, my etmain was bloated… just try and get rid of some of the small
pk3’s servers sent you and see what happens… try not to delete any map
pk3’s, and the official ones… :wink:

Use 2.60b patch to be able to play on BOTH ET Pro 3.2.6 servers, and jaymod, and no quarter servers.

Unzip it and copy et.exe and etded.exe to your Wolf ET folder, usually c:\program files\wolfenstein - enemy territory\

About downloads. If you dont like downloads write this into console: (push button left to 1, to drop down console=

seta cl_allowdownload 0

Now you wont download skins,sounds, or maps.

Unfortunally you cannot choose to only download new maps, or only new skins. So its either everything or nothing.
